And I guess the parent so fired for the missing security around his work PC. (I mean, even when I used to live alone, I was locking my PC when I left my home office room to go for a coffee)
If I recall correctly the employee is very well regarded and very instrumental to the game (head of development or something like that) so I don't think that will happen.
They should absolutely stop sharing passwords/leaving their computer unlocked though. They might also not be allowed to work from home anymore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My dad works at Nintendo!
...with help from an Amazon Fire stick? What? How.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Purported leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 footage on TikTok may have come from the child of a Rockstar Games employee, according to reports.
UK-based game news site Eurogamer first reported that a TikTok account called @i_see_in_4k uploaded two short videos claiming to be a "first look at GTA 6" on Saturday.
BREAKING:In a totally unexpected turn of events, it appears the ‘leaked’ footage has come from the son of a Rockstar Games employee.
"The evidence to suggest the video has come from someone related to the employee in question is fairly convincing," GTABase said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In August, a UK court ruled that Arion Kurtaj was responsible for hacking Rockstar Games, leading to the "significant" leak of footage for GTA 6, IGN reported.
During his time in the hotel, Kurtaj used an Amazon Fire stick to access the internet and help with the hack on Rockstar Games, police said according to BBC.

Kurtaj used a WHAT
An Amazon Fire Stick
The reason for that was because he could not have a pc or access to the internet but an amazon fire stick, is allowed since they do not expect him to use it for other purposes with the browser. Must have found a site that gave him access to a virtual machine or a VPS virtual private server to phish a rockstar games employee and from there access slack and then release footage of it on gtaforums.
Ok but what kind of hotel blocks the internet, but makes an exception for streaming sticks?
What if the hotel has fire sticks on all their TVs? The anti-theft devices will only slow down a determined thief.
That makes sense
Kurtaj was the only one who wasn’t allowed internet access because he was being held at the hotel awaiting trial for hacking another company. The fire stick was a way to loop hole himself out of the restrictions since police didn’t think he could use it for hacking apparently.
