It's the dunk tank.

This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.

Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.

Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome

Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)

Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.

Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.

Rule 8: The subject of a post cannot be low hanging fruit, that is comments/posts made by a private person that have low amount of upvotes/likes/views. Comments/Posts made on other instances that are accessible from hexbear are an exception to this. Posts that do not meet this requirement can be posted to [email protected]

Rule 9: if you post ironic rage bait im going to make a personal visit to your house to make sure you never make this mistake again

Algorithms are racist because they are trained on racist data because the data comes from a racist society. It's more likely that it regurgitates Israeli propaganda because the Internet is full of it (and with less push back back when this LLM was trained) than because the company made sure to dial up the racism meter.

Porque no los dos? Cops are racist because they enforce racist law for a racist society, but there are still individual racists deciding what those racist laws are and how they're enforced. There are already filters in place to make sure the data sets it's being trained on aren't random gibberish and that they don't generate illegal/unethical responses. Those are intentional individual choices from him and his team.

I wish I were surprised at this point. Surely there will be a consequence right? Right? doomer

Of course there will be a consequence! Underpaid and overworked teachers eventually using these LLMs to make lesson plans for their students. Underfunded school systems eventually replacing teachers with these. The responses being the foundation of every lazy internet reply, half-assed search, and autogenerated script. A society of medieval peasants asking the magic computer for its divine wisdom and not questioning its logic, like a skinner box form of how facebook has eaten the minds of most people over age 40.
