I couldn't get through the first episode, it was like it was all first draft freshman writing

Oh I know who you are, you're exposition! (Turns to other character) Exposition explains details about characters explicitly to the audience, often providing too much specific detail in a stilted, unnatural manner.

gotta love when characters state things out loud that everyone in the scene already knows. "she's married to Andy Ronson, you know, the king of tech"

the show Childrens Hospital did a great parody of this: "you're the best damn doctor in Brazil, which, as we all know, is where this hospital is"

I actually enjoy it. But I like it more for the mood and melodrama more than its craftsmanship. It does feel like something an AI prompter spit out at times. What if the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a true crime podcaster who got stuck in an Agatha Christie novel that took place in the lair of a James Bond villain.
