Omg. Theres more ads than content in that link haha. I cant stand big cars. I wonder if one day they won't be worth much because people get sick of them

People who have trucks love them. That ain't changing.

What may change is younger demographics having lower interest.

That being said, trucks are super useful. I very much doubt we see them go away unless there is a real viable alternative. SUV/CUVS could trend downwards in a few years I think.

I have an alternative to the pick-up trucks currently in production. Smaller pick-up trucks. They’re only that large as a legal loophole around regulation of the ratio of mileage to vehicle footprint. I’d add a source but I can’t find the video I saw a couple of months ago.

I know a bunch of people who really want smaller trucks. The Ford maverick sold out pretty quickly.

It’s insane to me that the modern Ford Ranger is bigger than a 90s F150. There’s absolutely a market there that’s only served by people buying used

You know a lot of the thing about trucks is purely regulatory. Trucks are exempt from a lot of regulations that cost money and they're huge, both of those things mean more resources going into luxury and such.

These are vehicles that exist at the intersection of a bunch of different things. It's wrong to say Americans will only allow companies to sell big, stupid, dangerous trucks. Change the incentives and we'd see a change in what people buy and drive.

I would trade in my beater truck for one of those Kei Trucks in a second if they were easy to get.

Damn I want a '90s Silverado over anything new, I hate these behemoths on the road.

It's NOT American preference. It's NOT auto makers. It IS govt regulation... Stupid CAFE garbage!
