Thanks Moto, just 2.5 months behind. I think they will do a major version update sometime, then 1 more security patch and that's it? That's what they did with my previous phone. It wasn't ideal but tbh it didn't bother me that much.

All this is pure FYI.

Motorola is super bad with updates. Get a pixel, samsung or any other OEM which is reliable and is known to provide timely updates. Thanks for the FYI, it should save others.

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with this Moto. I don't know of anything comparable in the same price range or lower. I'm a Linux dev but not much of a phone user, and basically nudged upwards to this phone starting from cheaper models. I don't use any apps except a few from f-droid, so maybe the lack of updates won't catch up with me. We'll see how it goes.
