fossify file manager, aves gallery and open video gallery for me :3
Amaze file manager. Resurrected so many times. Great interface.
Fossify file manager is now available.
MiXplorer but I never really sure about it's FOSS state. Isn't listed on F-Droid neither.
Edit: Fossify Gallery.
Mixexplorer looks good, but on PlayStore is paid (nothing against it btw) and I cant certificate if the app is FoSS or not :/
If someone can help about it, I appreciate
FOSS means that the app has its source available somewhere (usually github), and can be used to compile it. Additionally it has to have a compatible license. I doubt MiXeplorer has either.
For a file manager (GUI) I rather like PCManFM, particularly on tiling WMs. I've been wanting to try out Xplorer but not got around to it, last time I tried the appimage was a bit broken.
Video editors I've only used, but rather like, Kdenlive.
Ty for your suggestions. This is only work on linux, correct? For now, Im just preparing a megathread about FOSS apps for android, but your suggestions will be noted and saved. I don't mind doing this for Linux in the future, but for now it's only for Android.
And I dont put iOS apps because I dont know nothing about it :(
EDIT: My fault, because I dont explain correctly these threads are about android..
Yeah sorry must have missed the android bit
No problem!
If you use an android and want share your favourite apps, feel free to say what you want. On this main post you can see the previously threads and disscussions.
I not sure this is going to help but I use essentially all the default apps of lineageOS when it comes down to file manager, recorder and gallery.
But I do know that fossify has currently file manager and gallery apps which are very good, the recorder I don't really know a alternative.
Since I don't edit videos on the phone I can't really recommend an app but I am sure there is something in the fdroid repos or even on the github to install via obtainium.
You can share the app names you use on Lineage. Then, I will do a search about it and then we see if they belong to this or not
Found the contacts app repo, also there is the main LineageOS repo if you want to delve deeper into it.
Also found a relevant thread in LineageOS subreddit which claims that all of the apps are open source belonging to the AOSP or Android Open Source Project, and based on the contacts app it seems to be under the apache license (so it is Foss)
thanks. but unfortunately, I don't see any way for anyone to be able to download the apps you mention, without lineage. Taking this factor , it will be impossible to add them to the final thread :/
Ok, no worries ๐.
Add the fossify ones it should be easier for the general user.
I think exodus might be mistaking the fdroid version of material files for the google play version. I've been using material files for a while and i never had any issues. Besides that: Voice recorder: Simple voice recorder (planning to switch to fossify when it get's finished) Gallery: Aves Libre (Love the design and sorting by file type features. The only thing i'm missing is a native photo editor)
fossify voice recorder coming soon
On last comment I put here, Exodus and Libchecker gave me trackers about Material Files app . I download the app from F-Droid or Github, but @[email protected] alert me this app, after all, doesnt have trackers from F-Droid. Dont know why this happened to me, and dont know if it was a bug or something related, taking into account that apps gave me trackers.
I appreciate his comment and I want to say sorry to everyone. If someone can talk more about it and share experiences with Material Files, I appreciate a lot.
