I've used MusicBrainz Picard for this task on Mac in the past.

This has a really screwy interface. After playing with it a bit I am unable to see where I can manually change/add tags (I add the release year to all I of my album tags), only download them. It added a lot of interesting tags, such as each instrument and who is playing it.
Something I will play with a bit more.
Not sure if this is still relevant, or if the mac version differs, but try right click on the tag area.
I will check that. I did find an app that tags the way I want, but had issues with accents in track titles.
May not be quite the thing… media human
That appears to have a lot of features… and a lot of different apps, but from what I saw it does not do and tagging.
Ahh. Right. Sorry. Normally for conversion it does the automatic tagging.
Which is what I normally do.
Yeah if I was doing file conversions I think this would work.
I've used the windows version of MP3Tag in the past. There's a Mac version but it's paid.
Thanks, I had looked at that one, I am going to give the trial a shot today to see if its tag editing actually changes the tags for my infotainment unit.
For those of you looking for command line options, ffmpeg can do it.
