Sadly, I think your account has no permission to access ex,
There is teaching on some forums, but I don't know how the exactly mechanism works either.
As I known Asia IP cannot get the permission.

Why was it never mentioned anywhere 😩

Anyway, would a VPN work? I live in a place where it's generally not needed....until probably now.

A VPN would almost certainly work. They just block ips so that if their site runs afoul of the law, they can just say they have no official operations in that country.

It works, especially with not-so-popular providers. Free VPNs also work but many nodes will be blocked. I've seen it work on Tor even (most nodes are already blacklisted) before it also being banhammered in microseconds.

sadpanda has a tor hidden service but it has an annoying captcha.

Back then they told to clear browser cookies and I did, but still couldn't get through. Didn't know it was actually IP block.
