Even then, that is pretty impressive with a cpu and gpu together (sorry, haven't looked at the newer cpu tdps in a bit, was thinking older mobile chips).

I think Terry Pratchett would probably be laughing uproariously.

True. If this is around a 30 watt tdp, it would have amazing power consumption numbers (for reference, they were comparing it to a 1070 max q, which could have a max tdp of 115 watts).

Thanks for linking, it was just suspect that it wasn't linked in the Reuters article (I know it Reuters, but even then if it's a claim that might be challenged they should link to the research).

Where is the research in the article? It's basically citing one paper, and not really telling what its title is so you can't just review it to make sure it's valid and not missing something.

While that is a better trajectory, I do kind of have the mildly pessimistic view that a large part of the costs of good going down isn't truly a positive sign for inflation, but the market forcing prices down due to decreased spending. I'm luckily in a decent position financially (my bills are paid, rent, while not cheap, is paid on time), but the cost of pretty much everything has become so much higher with not much of an increase in earning. If the minimum wage were forced up it would probably help, but idk, every person I've talked (in person) about the issue with is pretty negative about the issue.

But is it really progress, or did the price of everything jack up an it has come down just a bit because companys are finally getting the blowback they deserve as consumers reduce spending?

The problem as I see it is that those crazy people discovered the internet, and met the other crazies that reinforced the stupid stuff they believed. And when enough of them got together, people started to notice and someone was like, "I can make money off this by making them interact with non-crazies." The first probably was Facebook, but after others saw how profitable it was, they decided to have their own slice of the pie, which in turn made those fringe groups more noticeable.

Wonder how long until an os option will be available on it?

[-] [email protected] 33 points 3 days ago

Also very, very obviously an open beta.

Are they at least asking for the financial details of the businesses? I remember noting that a lot of the issue with private equity was how opaque their finances were.

No problem with them, but one thing I've seen that can be an issue is accounting for how you distribute the weight of the batteries in the vehicle. Newer evs are generally in a skateboard (along the bottom of the car) configuration or lengthwise, where a transmission tunnel would otherwise be. In a lot of older vehicles conversions, they just hook an electric motor to whatever transmission is already there, meaning you are generally putting the batteries where the engine would be, or in the trunk. If you are putting a lot in (usually required because they are less aerodynamic), the weight can affect how the car handles negatively. There are only a few cars that don't really seem to have that problem, and that's because there were other spaces on the car. The best one in my mind for it is the Porsche (or VW depending on how you view it) 914, and there already have been a few conversations of them (the fuel tank is right in front of the drivers feet, so you can just drop batteries there and in the back where the engine used to be).

Found growing in a pot with a hibiscus plant, not entirely sure how it got there but the recent excessive rainfall has made it fruit.

Went on the Blue Ridge Parkway this week, and had a blast! The Parkway feels amazing with the top down, and all of the curves make for some interesting driving.
