I'm gonna meddle with the Bird of the Day feature here. I have thousands of images of Red-tailed Hawks. Red-tailed Hawks come in thousands of different varieties/plumages. So I will regularly drop in a photo of one of those as the Bird of the Day.

And this one is special. Feb 13, 2018, but I remember it like it was yesterday. Wildcat Creek Road west of the Manhattan airport. I was recently retired, and had a new Olympus camera and Panasonic/Leica lens, adjusting to that new system after many years shooting with Canon gear. I saw this young redtail, and got a bunch of shots of it both perched and in flight, and I was hooked. I had no idea that redtails came in plumages like this. I had no idea that I lived in one of the best places in the country for seeing this species in a tremendous variety of plumages. I have been learning ever since.

@rain_[email protected] All pictures posted on my account are my pictures, unless otherwise noted. And I have no clue how to nominate it for wikimedia commons. Can you elaborate, or point me toward a site that will guide me?

No, they are large, and presumably cuddly!
