Sometimes I get to a point where I just stop using certain terms if I have to keep explaining them. Maybe I'm just too weak minded tbh.

The current one shows diversity with the various colors and interconnectivity with the pentagram.

The asterism is all white and disconnected.

There's plenty of bots on Fedi and there's no way to ensure yourself protected from bots, almost anywhere on the internet unfortunately.

Before Fedi, I never imagined social media as a way to actually connect with people in a meaningful way. On the other sites, I got followed by bots and barely ever had an interaction beyond 1 amazing human that thought it was a good part of his day to interact with me. That person happened to be Tommie Earl Jenkins, the actor that played Die Hardman in Death Stranding.

I miss talking to him, but Fedi has TONS of nice people just like him, so it suits me better.

I just wish people wouldn't try to change things that don't need changing and fix the things that are actually broken.๐Ÿ˜”

I love this place. Let's make changes for the better of it. Not just because you want it to be changed.

The current logo looks appealing to me, which makes it easy to use and then makes me want to explain it because it's interesting.

I've been through the patch notes and there's some report list changes and such, but nothing that stands out as assisting to take care of harassment...hasn't that been the most discussed issue recently? Why is it not being addressed?๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Why? There's absolutely nothing wrong with it and changing it offers no benefit.

Right now, we have to explain what it is and why it's like that, and then if we change it, we will have to still explain what it is and why it's like that, and it will look less appealing.

Idk why people want to fix something that's not broken.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

When I discovered the Fediverse, simply by name and logo, I had this sort of childlike wonder and excitement to discover something new.

I don't want to see that experience get ruined because the logo or name get uninteresting.

It's wild, it's basically "if you don't see it, it doesn't exist". As someone who's constantly worried about liability, this just does not work for a single user instance. I have nightmares about how bad it might be for a much bigger instance.๐Ÿ˜ณ

@[email protected] there's a bit of discourse on the hashtags I used regarding the logo today.

The name discourse has been a thing for months now. They keep trying to change it to "Social Web" because normies gotta stink up the naming of things so they can use "easy" words.๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

You also have to follow a bot here to bridge as well.

The most widely used blocklist is by Oliphant, who has been proven time and time again to add to the blocklist for personal reasons and lie within the list.

Obviously this is harmful to those who do nothing wrong and end up on the list because of a personal beef.

New users: post an #Introduction, littered with hashtags that are related to your interests so others with similar interests can find easily!

Fediverse hasn't widely adopted full text search, so hashtags are the easiest way to find new people to follow.

Also, remember that this isn't only Mastodon. This is the Fediverse with MANY different softwares here with many different features.

If you refer to everything as Mastodon, we'll just end up like Twitter where one asshole is in charge.
