So we only had 2 Worlds with Swiss, but this is an interesting observation. Is it meaningful yet? Who knows, I'll leave that up for you to decide. I'm just sharing the data.

Worlds 2023:

3-0 teams in Swiss: GenG and JDG

GenG lost first game to BLG in their quarterfinal.

(Series ended 3-2 BLG)

JDG lost their first game to KT in their quarterfinal.

(Series ended 3-1 JDG).

Worlds 2024:

3-0 teams in Swiss: GenG and LNG

LNG lost their first game to Weibo in their quarterfinal.

Unfortunately I don’t have good news on the state of the android app: I am retiring it. The last release on Github and F-Droid will happen with the December 2024 Syncthing version.

Reason is a combination of Google making Play publishing something between hard and impossible and no active maintenance. The app saw no significant development for a long time and without Play releases I do no longer see enough benefit and/or have enough motivation to keep up the ongoing maintenance an app requires even without doing much, if any, changes.

Thanks a lot to everyone who ever contributed to this app!

Indeed, which is why I did not suggest to use LW to host the community.

And I reported recently power tripping on LW on [email protected] so don't worry, I'm well aware

We still answers from a set of different instances, including lemm.ee, SJW, blahaj, lemmy.today, fedia.io, discuss.tchncs.de and a few others

you cut off lots of people from answering, like those on Hexbear or Lemmygrad.

Lemmy.zip does not block any of those, so they should be fine. I also went back to a month and couldn't find any post made by a member of those instances, so not sure how interested they are in this topic?
