If the sites didn't put it all beyond pay walls it might remedy that problem a little bit. Force people to jump through hoops just to read shit journalism and they will do the easier thing: debate headlines.

In fairness OP asked for "smaller films/ stories" and then name dropped probably one of the biggest horror films ever.
Just been lurking until now but I guess we can +1 that active user count. Just waiting for sync to add a lemmy app and then it's full steam ahead.
Ushiro no Shoumen Kamui-san is the one. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting a silly comedy.
