I checked that as well. The pads are wearing symmetrically.

Same amount of pad remaining on the other side of the rotor. The pads on the other side of the car are in the same condition. The rotor is a little sad and rusty, but that's because I don't drive this car very much these days. It's difficult to get a good look at the rear pads, but I can feel with my fingers that they still have some meat left on them and are also wearing symmetrically. I don't understand why this mechanic would tell me I need brakes when it's not difficult for me to check for myself. Brake fluid level is good and car doesn't have trouble stopping.

Government cheese was created to maintain the price of dairy as a correction for previous policies that had lead to a surplus and falling prices. I'm suggesting using stockpiles of goods to do the opposite and suppress prices.

How does gouging work when there's no shortage of a given product?

[โ€“] [email protected] 0 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

I still don't understand. Why wouldn't retailers buy from government stockpiles when their regular suppliers are short? The idea is to make up for the shortage so there's no basis for gouging.

The market. Consumers won't have to pay more for toilet paper or whatever than for the price the government is selling it from the stockpile.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 18 hours ago

There's no reason the government can't produce things, but, to your point, the stockpiles would be built up when prices are low and only sold off when prices start increasing too quickly. The program might still operate at a net loss, but that's okay if it successfully protects working class people from price gouging.

I'm not sure what you think is supposed to be so difficult about the logistics. When regular supplies of certain good fall off the government would just sell from its stockpiles to increase the market supply and prevent gouging.

Instead of price controls to prevent gouging, why doesn't the government build up reserves and stockpiles?

When it's time plan to DIY it, so that's reassuring!

M'lady and suitor?

I don't think I have more than 17,000 miles on these pads and it seems like I have plenty left. It's like this all the way around. Am I wrong to think that I have some time before I need brake service?

I was thinking of synonyms in different languages, like magister and scholasticus, which are teacher and student in latin.

Just have to find synonyms that begin with the same letters, possibly in different languages.

It was a nice day for some casual archery practice, too.
