FTA: This year, the TEA said that at least 25% of the TELPAS writing and speaking assessments were re-routed to a human scorer to check the program’s work. That number oscillated between 17% and 23% in the previous six years, according to public records obtained by the Tribune.

Thanks for the input. I will try plugging it into other ports, or maybe a powered hub and see what kind of distance I get with that. Didn't even think of it being a power issue.

Dear sweet baby jesus. What software does a mouse need other than a driver? This AI shit was annoying to begin with, and they just keep trying to shovel that shit right down our throats.

Not impressed with Logitech lately. Was on a trip and needed to pick up a wireless kb and mouse, and went with a logitech. Used a single dongle which was ok. Would have preferred bluetooth, but I can handle a dongle. Got it hooked up and to my dismay if you move away further than about 1 foot, the mouse got really jumpy, and you could tell they were both losing connection. What's the point of having a wireless mouse and kb if you have to be within inches of the device. Ended up picking up a usb extension cable and moving the dongle closer to where I had the kb and mouse. Janky solution for something that shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. Sorry Logitech, subscription based anything is a hard no for me!

Same with me. I put a little heart in the middle left corner, and then went away on a trip. I was completely shocked to see it was still there for the final image. And love that it was worked into the Android logo. Thanks to all!!

I got it. Felt like I was just seconding your statement.

in any sane world.

It feels like that ship sailed some time ago.

I will link to a buffer from harbor freight, and I don't usually recommend tools from there if they are important or you require a certain quality, but this 6" buffer seems to be holding up well over the years. With this cheap buffer from h.f. I rescued a ton of dvd's for netflix. I would get them and they would be so scratched my player would have issues. So I would take the dvd out to the shop and give it a once over with the buffer. You have to pay attention to the direction the buffer is spinning and only polish/buff from the center out on the disc, only use a fine polishing compound at the start, and never let the dvd sit in one spot on the buffer or it will do some real damage to it. But I was very successful getting a lot of dvd's repaired back to a working state with this method. It takes time, and you have be patient, but you can buff them out pretty nicely. Might save the library some money.

Can we pick a random city, and throw two rocks? Whoever they hit, we wake them up, dust them off and let them know they are the new presidential candidates. I am confident we will have a much better selection than the current.

I'll take two bowls of split pleas.

My son picked up a refurbished Ipad mini that we were going to use as a screen for our quadcopters. Well, you can't load any software on it so it's just a worthless piece of shit. Way to go apple.

I just got an email about a new power supply board for the rpi5 - PD Power Extension Board for Raspberry Pi 5. It's on their pihut website and is $20. Has multiple input types.

This is a crazy good deal, and according to people on their discord, you can transfer the standard license to someone if you already have a licensed copy. You will also get the pdf copies from Paizo on their website.

The Round Rock Library is pretty amazing, and any Texas resident can get a card free and immediately check out books and media. There's no charge to get a card either, you just have to show up in person, which you were going to do anyway if you planned on checking out books.

A major highlight in my opinion is returning the books/movies and watching them run up the conveyor belt and get sorted... Guess I am just a big kid.

So I grepped out all of the nodes from the log files. Here's every node that participated. Just thought it makes a cool list.

Dear Austin,

The Circuit of the Americas has now been open for 10 years. I distinctly recall a number of politicians yakking on and on about how they were going to upgrade the infrastructure around the track when they were begging for money to get the facility built. Well, it's been 10 years and the people living there are still dealing with the same shitty ass roads that were there before, and the same shitty ass traffic. Only I am guessing now, that when an event is in town, they have to hunker down like it's a winter storm. What happened? Is it too much for the place to do what they said they would do, and get some better roads going in and out. And before it gets said, I mean roads that us plebs have to take, not the toll road. It's complete bullshit that it has been a decade and I am still having to deal with the same horrific traffic situation to get to the track. I truly feel sorry for people who have to live near there. Damnit Austin, we can really do better. But I guess the people who can get shit done are just helicoptered in so they don't have a clue, and they are just too busy counting money.

Fig
