Just used it myself. Still very much working.

Y'know, if they had walked everything back - or even just reduced API costs - right away, no one would have left. Now their top content creators have left, and nothing they do will repair the damage.

Came to the comments to say the same thing. Cool collection, but invest a few bucks on some cable ties my dude.

That's not just a hot take, that's straight up nuclear.

That's such a wholesome way to look at it. 😊

I just purchased a new phone and I'm kicking myself now. I've wanted to support Fairphone for a while, but I just can't justify another phone purchase.

It just sounds like slavery with extra steps.

I think you could say the same for a lot of countries. Even the ones that seem to know what they're doing make braindead decisions sometimes.

I was a little confused since I'm from America and am used to all utilities being privately owned, so I did some research. It does look like Japan's government owns a majority stake in the company, specifically because of this disaster. The private stakeholders are still there but own minority stakes. So yeah, the government of Japan dropped the ball here. It's strange that I read the linked article and they never mentioned the government once.

I don't think this is the forum to have this conversation, and anything I say will just prompt you to personally attack me. I think you should open your mind to other points of view and think critically.

Have a good day, and be well.

It's amazing seeing content I would have never seen otherwise. I really hope we stay away from any suggestion algorithms.

I'm not sure if it's a setting that I've screwed up or something, but when I go into a pretty active NSFW community I see zero posts. Regardless of the sort or filters, nothing loads. Is this a bug or feature?

For what it's worth, the posts load on my subscriptions just fine. It's only when I navigate to the community where it's an issue.

I love the app, first and foremost. It's hands-down the best way to view Lemmy posts, and it feels amazing to scroll and interact with.

When I click a link that opens in a browser, though, it opens without any frame around it and can't open into any third party apps. I know it may not impact everyone, but for me this is pretty difficult to get around. Some use cases:

  • I clicked the link to view Liftoff! in the Play Store, and I couldn't click to actually download the app. Sure, I already have this installed, but it could happen for other apps.
  • I was reading an article that I wanted to share externally, but the menu for my browser wasn't available to share that content.
  • I clicked a YouTube video and wanted to watch it in the official app instead of the browser. There was no way to open the link in another app.

Again, loving the app but this would make it so much cooler!

It's me again, hi all.

I received my replacement phone, and it's been nothing but issues since. Android System Intelligence has crashed multiple times, and Bluetooth keeps disabling itself for no discernable reason. I've tried everything short of factory reset (because I'm on a work trip and can't risk losing my MFA apps).

I regret ever purchasing a Google product at this point. Buyer beware.

Also: Google, if you're reading this, do better. I know you won't, though.

This post is kind of spoiler-y. You've been warned. I also can't figure out spoiler tags on Jerboa (if you know, please help!).

We've had a blast running through the campaign. Starting in Krezk, the first experience our party had took them to the winery. Sure, that's normal enough. The Martikovs are a weird bunch, but we're helping get wine for the village. Then, the Abbott. Oh god, I've had so much fun with the Abbott ever since. They decided to use Ezmerelda's plan for the most part, only they're taking the bride to Strahd as part of the dinner.

Along the way, they've made a number of allies. Rictavio, Urwin, and of course Ezmerelda. It's a small army going to Ravenloft. The showdown is going to be epic, and my players have no idea the danger in store for them at the castle.

Technically this happened yesterday, but I'm still pretty mad at myself.

I've been riding my ebike pretty frequently to and from work. It's a short trip and basically the same amount of time as a car would take, so it just makes sense. My bike also has a cupholder, and I've been placing my keys in there to avoid being stabbed by them.

Yesterday, I had the brilliant idea of putting my headphones in there. I was trying to reduce clutter in my pockets and make it easier to peddle. Well, I hit a few bumps that were a little larger than usual, and with the traffic and trying to keep my head on a swivel I didn't notice my headphones bounce out of the cupholder.

I made it all the way home only to discover my massive error. Rip the $200 to replace those...
