I'm not understanding the context here...

The plane certainly isn't random... I don't know who he was meeting with or why he boarded...

🤔

Private DNS is currently Auto (and not off). I haven't tried to specify another.

Tracker control is pretty fantastic. It blocks an incredible amount of communication from every app including advertisements.

Examples:

  • I love Gboard and detest Google's data theft. And so, my gboard is now cut off from Google and offline with all features still available.
  • I've made simple games like Mahjong entirely offline.
  • I block dozens of trackers for apps I pay for which I think inappropriately steal information. Why on earth is Paramount+ trying to contact 43+ companies. Or AP contacting 32?

Tracker Control is a very very useful tool.

And... It uses only a tiny fraction of my battery. I'm talking 0.13% the last 24 hours.

Influencers don't register on my radar and I actively ignore them. But bigots... oh... f*ck them. Let justice be had and this dad prevail.

I can't imagine why...

It was recognizable to me at once because I am familiar with the Eurasian Magpie. It looks very much like them. And others felt the same for a long time! Just read this on the American Magpie Wikipedia:

It was once thought to be a subspecies of the Eurasian magpie (Pica pica), but was placed into its own species in 2000 based on genetic studies.

Made me smile ear to ear. 😁

How about that. I had not realized there were magpies in the United States.

I'd love for him to give this some attention. It's been mentioned for quite a while. A couple channels just added a new bot which uses spoiler tags to hide excessive information. now it makes these ridiculously huge comments for every single post...

This is what it looks like for me on Boost: Sample of the bot comments

Would love love love to see markdown support updated particularly for spoiler tags.

Yeah, I'm gonna mention again in the app community, but this doesn't seem high priority. It's been mentioned many times before and affects all kinds of areas where spoiler tags are used. 🫤

I think it's a great addition, but it sure does eat up a lot of space. Any way it can be condensed to the absolute basic information?

I get that it's a mark down problem with the app, but perhaps it can still be condensed?

Can anyone recommend a OnePlus 11 telephoto lens attachment? My initial searches seem to be coming up dry.

Photo Description

Top Left: Tree unbalanced. Left side producing little. Right side producing well.

Top Right: Shown from opposite side. Full limbs visible without flowering.

Bottom left: Close up of the left side of the tree. Several branches not flowering down full length.

Bottom right: Closer view of the graft and up.

Please do ask for any more clarifying photos if you think it would help.

Questions:

  • The tree just started blooming this week. Is it too late to start pruning or should I wait until Autumn?

  • Pruning the tree is going to make it even more lopsided than it already is. Would you all recommend trimming back the healthy branches so it's not so heavy on one side?

  • This website gives the advice below. Any thoughts otherwise?

Thank you all so much!

How to Prune a Weeping Cherry Tree

The different types of weeping cherries can grow to between eight and 40 feet tall. Proper pruning keeps these trees looking beautiful and can prevent the development and spread of diseases. Prune while the tree is dormant (no flowers or leaves on the branches) in early spring or late fall. Take the following steps once a year with bypass pruning shears or a pole pruner.

  • Cut back any branches that contact the ground until they’re at least six inches off the ground.
  • Remove branches that are rubbing against each other.
  • Trim back branches that are closer than two inches apart.
  • Remove dead branches.
  • Remove stems or branches growing out of the trunk or around the base of the tree (a.k.a. suckers).
  • Trim back the tips of the branches around the perimeter of the canopy until it’s a balanced, uniform shape.
  • Remove branches that are growing straight up on grafted cherry trees because they will continue to grow upward instead of weeping down.
  • Thin out the mangled cluster of branches that often develops near the base of the canopy of grafted trees.
  • Remove diseased branches as soon as they’re discovered, regardless of the time of year. Sterilize the blade of your cutting tool in between cuts to prevent disease spread.

Does anyone know of a Duolingo-like birding application that gamifies bird identification?

(Particularly for Android and extra points for sound ID in addition to visual ID)

So glad to finally hear an update on this and see that he's actually being punished. I hope others learn from this.

"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in action in the two years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

"A U.S. intelligence report declassified in mid-December 2023 estimated that 315,000 Russian troops had been killed or wounded in Ukraine. If accurate, the figure would represent 87% of the roughly 360,000 troops Russia had before the war, according to the report."

I will never feel as though I fit in this world, a place where the so-called leaders of humanity callously throw away the lives of their own people--slaughtering the innocent along the way--in their own broken, vileness.

There is no goodness from such death.

We have the ability, today, to be so much more than we have ever been. We can realize the greatest of human potential. Yet we continue to choose death.

Had I only been born in a later age where I could spend my one life in an era that is extraordinarily glorious. Presuming of course that our species would survive itself to such a time.

Any idea why I am not seeing comments for any of the posts here?

When I click the "Last weeks thread" link and it opens in my web browser, I am then able to see the comments including my own...
