Another name for leaf blowers is air brooms and air brooms are useful for big jobs. They now come as battery powered which is better on two fronts as they are quieter but more importantly they are not using 2 stroke motors. Apparently the 2 stroke is the most polluting of internal combustion engines whose design hasn’t really improved since they were first invented.

In Australia it stems from the use pays ethos. Universities have to raise funds and then do research based on what the funders want. Pretty stultifying to be a researcher.

Looks like Signal has the Russian seal of approval as they ban it but not Telegram or Meta’s Messenger. Probably more people should use it.

Lucky boy that the Singapore health system is so good. I haven’t heard this sort of story since Covid vaccines had been introduced. Sounds like Covid vaccines are still the gold standard.

I imagine Putin is happy to have his share. The main question is whether it’s to his bank account or to the Kremlin’s to help pay for the war.

We use the term “disabled” in Australia. It’s more acceptable as disabled people are mostly quite capable.

I’ve seen the odd reference to live tracking (like WhatsApp) in Signal but as I can’t find any real detail I assume that it doesn’t exist. Is that the case?

It’s not surprising that we may have passed 1.5c however the confirmation that climate science is on the money is a worry.
