I was diagnosed 10 years ago via a neuro-psych assessment. It wasn’t cheap but I wanted to assess for other areas of needs, such as short term memory retention. The assessment included an interview followed by several hours of structured testing.

These days, I believe there are quicker ways to test specifically for ADHD via a limited set of questions. A psychiatrist can certainly do this but most primary care physicians should also be able to as well. Depending on where you live, access to psychiatry might be limited and your primary care physician may be the one to manage your meds (if warranted) in any event. A psychologist may be able to diagnose ADHD but can’t offer medication options.

Re: learning disability/dyslexia, the neuro-psych testing can identify these issues. There may be simpler, more cost effective methods to identify these or other deficits. If you potentially need accommodations in the workplace, they may require some proof of assessment.

Hope that helps.

Welcome! And depending on where you are, sorry about the air quality :/

I may be reading it wrong but it appears mods will only enforce one rule: every post must somehow relate to iOS. “Hey, here’s a pic of John Oliver from my iOS device.” Is fair game. It will be up to admins, not mods to enforce site-wide rules. This is going to be interesting.

Artemis. Great name and doesn’t imply a fixture to any one fed platform.

Sort of manual but try this as a kbin.social user:

https://kbin.social/m/{lemmy community} <-- but without the '!'
e.g. https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]

Remember to remove the '!' :)

Very nice. Relaxing :)

Totally agree.

For a given sub, how many accounts map to individuals vs bots/fake accounts? For real accounts, how many of those actively engage with the sub? This is not a problem for 'controlled' user accounts. The legitimacy of any vote will be suspect...no way around that.

Oh, that’s rich. The API was created for third party access. And if he didn’t like it, why was it tolerated for so long? Hmmm…maybe because they brought in more users and their data to fatten the pig before IPO?

I agree and you aren't really aware of it until you are gone for a bit. I'm convinced the algorithm promotes some toxicity as it likely drives more engagement, which in turn promotes ad revenue. kbin feels like real human engagement. I replaced all of my reddit comments with a mild protest statement. Will likely delete on June 30th.
