I agree that LEO was probably a strong influence, just like Moebius and Alien. I also think they really found their own style with the ecosystem they created, by how they mixed different influences and then added their own twist.

Yes, exactly that snake from the Rod of Asclepius! :) After getting to know one of them personally, I understand why they were chosen as a part of the symbol of healing and medicine. Compared to the other snake species that lived on our land -mostly adders and grass snakes- Aesculapians behave noticeably calmer around humans, don't panic easily and are non aggressive. Because of that, to me as a kid they seemed special and even friendly in a way. At the same time I was afraid of all the other snakes, when I occasionally met them on my way home from school. That was despite the fact that Aeskulaps grow to a much bigger size than the other snakes in that biome. An old village lady told me then that you can even tame them by placing a saucer of milk on the veranda and sitting a little closer to the feeding snake every evening. I never even considered doing that though, had way too much respect for the animal.

In contact with humans, they can be rather tame, possibly due to their cryptic coloration keeping them hidden within their natural environment. They usually disappear and hide, but if cornered they may sometimes stand their ground and try to intimidate their opponent, sometimes with a chewing-like movement of the mouth and occasionally biting.

The English wiki article on them is quite interesting.

Wait, is there a Scavengers Reign graphic novel

I am sorry, this is just a frame from the show. Maybe there will be one in the future, lets hope so.

or is it just here because of how obviously in love with Mœbius the show is?

That and because of how obviously in love with Moebius I am.

I appreciate the skillful stylisation. The pictures look flat and deep at the same time, or as I would call it - 2.5D - which is an interesting effect of the technique. I especially like the friendly snake, they remind me of the calm Aesculapian, that lived in the stonewall next to our house when I was a kid.

None of us is perfect, you realized your blunder and apologized honestly. Let's consider the topic done.

Hi RBG! That is of course a legitimate question. Usually we do not post much AI generated material here, simply because we are focused on hand drawn bande desinee+. However, from time to time there will be an exception. The amount of AI generated images posted here is probably below 1% of the content and if you are not interested in it I would propose you just ignore it and enjoy the other 99%.

I really think you both could have talked about this little detail in a much nicer and more constructive way. We are all here because of our love for comic art, there is simply no reason for infighting and certainly not for insults.

The smart mix of clear lines in the front and blurry objects with no outline in the background results in an amazing depth of field effect that seems to be increased even more by the differentiated lighting. I appreciate it a lot! I also like the Tarot card aesthetics of this piece. The snake looks quite friendly too, which is cool.

Never cared much for the Jackson movies, to me they are completely void of the fairytale-like magic the books have. Then there is my second biggest complaint, that his orks look like fucking zombies. That is not surprising, considering where Jackson is coming from (Braindead, lol) but still, orks and goblins are called greenskins for a reason damn it!
