Must not have known they were epileptic. I dated an epileptic person and she said they weren't even allowed to drive.

Commercial flights will all be fully booked for months at least. The only realistic way for most Americans in Lebanon will likely be evacuation.

If you look at the comments under any YouTube video about Gaza or Lebanon, it's mostly people cheering it on, especially on videos from major media outlets.

It seems like people understand the immense human toll and just don't care because they want to see Israel continue to take out alleged military targets regardless of civilian deaths. It's truly evil and reminiscent of any other genocide in history, the victims just aren't respected as humans.

I'm tired of seeing this over and over, even in the information age. I'm starting to be convinced that humanity is just not viable as a species and is destined to destroy itself ad infinitum over shit like this.

Smart TVs are designed to surveil you, a media center PC can be used however you want. Flash Linux and run Jellyfin and torrent everything through a VPN, then nothing can track you.

Yep, it was my personal, password-protected network. Either someone reconnected it (unlikely, I live with my gf who doesn't use the TV) or it just cached the password until it decided to spy on my again 🙃

I have definitely had to forget networks, then have them connect to that network weeks later at random, then having to forget the network again. Don't know how that's legal.

I mean... it's probably good to talk about these things before getting married, since it will inevitably lead to unresolved feelings later on. I wouldn't mind if, for instance, my partner was a slut while I was a sexless virgin before we got together, but I would at least want to know that about them. In my mind you're supposed to talk about your life experiences with your partner, and sex is falls under that umbrella. Idk, maybe I'm weird for thinking that.

Do not connect your Smart TVs to network people, seriously. Just a bad idea. Use a media center PC or some other device that allows you to stream content, and make sure the TV itself is just a big monitor, nothing more.

I would be fine with it if it were a privacy-respecting platform that was subscription-based first and foremost, then had an ad-supported tier as well, but unfortunately it's owned by Google so they're collecting untold troves of data even from paid subscribers and that's the actual product for them.

I'm procrastinating at work and installing random packages with CLI that are just fun to mess with. Recently I've been looking up all my co-workers with Sherlock, just for fun. Does anyone else have CLI stuff that they like to screw with when they're bored?

I took this at Muskallonge State Park in Michigan. It's the only place within a few hundred miles of my house that's Bortle class 1, meaning zero light pollution. It was fantastic and I absolutely want to go back sometime.

Thinking about this because of a greentext I saw earlier complaining about OF models.

It feels like a lot of the stigma surrounding sex work in the modern day (that doesn't just boil down to misogyny/gender norms/religion) is based on the fact that selling intimate aspects of one's self places a set value on something that many see as sacred; something that shouldn't have monetary value.

Not to say anything about the economic validity of a society without currency, but I think that, hypothetically, if that were to exist, sex work would be less stigmatized since this would no longer be a factor. Those engaged in sex work would be more likely to be seen as doing it because it's something they are good at/enjoy, and less because it's an "easy" way to make money, as some think. It would also eliminate the fear of placing set value on social, non sex-work related intimacy (not that those fears were well-founded to begin with).

Found this in the middle of nowhere in Kentucky on a road trip.

I've been having pre-carpal tunnel symptoms lately and I really want to switch to a vertical mouse, but I've heard from a lot of people that they just don't have the same sensory quality that you get with a traditional mid-high end gaming mouse. This would be an issue for me since constantly do quick flicks and don't think I can just tollerate an inferior sensor. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing, and if so do you have any good recommendations?
