I think that for "parent" it means the comment you are clicking, eg.:

|-- comment A |---- subcomment B

if you have that enabled and you collapse A, both A and B are collapsed if you have that disabled and you collapse A, only B is collapsed

Hi, long-time Sync user here; I would like to share with you what I consider the best settings to reach an excellent experience (IMHO obviously)
