I actually am a developer who works for a hospital. I wouldn't write articles or otherwise create materials discussing the "nitty gritty medical details".

Manuel Vonau

From his bio on that site (https://www.androidpolice.com/author/manuel-vonau/):

Manuel studied Media and Culture studies in Düsseldorf, finishing his university career with a master's thesis titled "The Aesthetics of Tech YouTube Channels: Production of Proximity and Authenticity." His background gives him a unique perspective on the ever-evolving world of technology and its implications on society. He isn't shy to dig into technical backgrounds and the nitty-gritty developer details, either.

So he's a marketing guy with possibly zero tech background beyond watching YouTube videos, who isn't afraid to discuss "nitty-gritty developer details" despite apparently not actually understanding them.

At this point, I think most people who qualify as merely conservative are Democrats. The Republican party in general has moved far right of "conservative" and well into "fanatical".

I was being a bit sarcastic, because season 1 was fantastic, but season 2 was (IMHO) absolutely terrible. I couldn't finish it.

altered carbon was a disaster

Personally, I loved it. I just wish they'd make a second season.

A limited release of High West Rendezvous Rye finished in both Tawny and Ruby Port barrels.

They had me at "port barrels"!

I'm hoping I can stay focused enough to do a brief review of my thoughts on each one. It won't be a full review, because I find that I can focus on trying to identify tasting notes, or I can focus on enjoying the dram, but not both at the same time. Given the sample sizes I'll be focusing on enjoying them :)

That holiday blend sounds delightful! I can't wait for my next trip to Europe; I feel like I completely wasted my first trip to the Whisky Exchange (except for the Laga Special Release 2021 the clerk recommended).

Lemmy: "All of the ways Elon mismanaged Tesla brought the quality of the cars down to the point where the brand's reputation is sunk. That hurt sales more than people not commuting to work."

You: "Look at all you on Lemmy saying how you don't need to own a car any more because you're using your car half as much!"

I honestly can't tell if he's trolling, or just unhinged. Either way, he's getting blocked.

Lmao what a shit take.

Great summary of every comment you've made in this thread.

Someone complains about one specific thing not being free. You:

I don’t know why people expect to get **everything **for free

Since you've started down the road of what people are and are not allowed to do: you are not allowed to participate in discussions if you can't avoid making shitty logical fallacies in your very first response.

That's correct. The indicator light was pretty obvious.

I always found it fascinating how upset people get about the idea of a novel device recording them without permission, but it is a complete non-issue that a familiar device (the common smart phone) could also record them without permission with less of a chance of them noticing.

Given how many "Pepper Joe'd" stories filled the Facebook and Reddit communities, I thought it might be a good idea to address this right off the bat.

Pepper Joes is a seed vendor that has been around for many years, and ranks right at the top for some popular search terms.

Legend has it that at one point they were a reputable seed seller, but the original owner sold the business many years ago. The current owners apparently outsource their supply from a variety of third-party growers, and their quality control is non-existent. Many people ordering from them receive seeds, grow them, and eventually find out that the seeds are not at all what they ordered. Most frequently they wind up being a pretty standard habanero, but random superhots or unknown crosses are also fairly common.

Other pepper communities have seen so many posts from people complaining that the seeds they bought from Pepper Joe's didn't grow true that it has become a meme.

There are many reports of their customer service getting argumentative with customers, refusing to acknowledge any responsibility or to issue refunds, although this doesn't seem universal.

Buy from them at your own risk.

I thought it would be nice to start a list of reputable seed vendors. Please feel free to list any of your favorites.

I've broken the list out into U.S. and EU sections, but some U.S. vendors may ship to EU countries, and some EU vendors may ship to the U.S.. If anyone has any good Asia-Pac vendors, I'll add a third section.

#U.S.

#EU

While I don't want to invite "name and shame" over bad experiences, I do want to call out one vendor that has earned a lot of notoriety. Pepper Joe is one of the most popular seed vendors, largely due to having excellent search engine placement. However, the original owner sold it long ago, and pepper communities are FILLED with people who bought seeds from them only to have them grow into something completely different (typically common habaneros).

We have a discussion thread specifically for Pepper Joe's.

My recommendation is to NOT buy from Pepper Joe's, ever.
