Not a good day today. Dealing with too much BS.

But tomorrow is gonna be better! 😄

Possibly the most demanding and stressful job in the world. Even 'young' guys come out looking 20 years older.

I know! Let's have two eighty year olds run for president! Democracy rocks!

I've been looking into various farmer direct/co-op/budget friendly options lately, but as a small household, I'm fucked. It's the same reason Costco is useless to me. I'd be buying way more than I needed and it would spoil before we could get through it.

I hate throwing out food and won't do it when so many people in the world go hungry.

McBride’s intention was not to leak to expose war crimes, it was to show how troops were being unnecessarily hounded by legal etc , ie ‘over-zealous investigations of special forces’

The ABC discovered war crimes in the leaks and went down that path, ignoring McBride's initial reason for leaking the information.

Now McBride is allegedly playing a hero being victimised for exposing the war crimes.

When Choice tested, 4 out of 6 didn't meet their SPF claims. You can see who they tested in the smh article.

I like the Cancer Council Active (grey one). It's not greasy/thick feeling, and actually dries on your skin. Mainly use for outdoor activities/sports.

And while it's a bit more expensive than budget sunscreens, it's a lot less than a lot of sunscreens. Check out the prices on some of those she tested. Holy cost of living crisis, Batman!

And I feel like I'm helping a bit by my money going to the Cancer Council.

Well, I don't see a problem with Adult Nuggies...

But, oh, there's a lot of variability in parmi's and even in just a chicken schnitzel.

Some 'chicken' schnitzels aren't pure chicken. They're some sort of mashed up beaks and feet with filler in breadcrumbs. Some are real chicken, but unidentifiable parts of a chicken. Some are real chicken breast, and even fewer are chicken thighs.

Then you get the cooking bit. And it's so often overcooked. Dry, tough. Maybe they want to make you buy another beer to try and wash it down.

I'm not even gonna start on the parmi side... It's not tomato sauce ffs, and your cheese and/or ham does matter. Most places going parmi makes a schnitzel worse instead of better.

There's two places I know that do it well, and no, I'm not telling you where, because I'm not gonna show up to the place and be told they've sold out of my Adult Nuggies. No1 doesn't share his food.

There was a time when any hint of impropriety would see a politician - or anyone in a position of power - instantly resign.

The man, named only as Tyson, was asleep with his pregnant girlfriend Jade inside a camper trailer on his grandmother's Logan property, when the explosion occurred late in the evening of March 21, 2022.

Never charge a battery unsupervised! May not have saved him from the explosion in this case....

I've taken to recharging some of my batteries in the bathroom. It's mainly tile, has good ventilation and a door I close in case of catastrophic failure. Mind you, all my batteries are made from brand name cells with built in BMS protection...

The US - at best - can only get one new president every 4 years.

Another point that their democratic system is inferior.

How many times have we heard the term "broad church" from the LNP? 🤣

idk much about politics or how the ALP works, and didn't even read the article, but unless there's something specific about Labor branches that have voted to support Albanese's position, it's one sided reporting by definition ...

Edit: I scanned the article and there appears to only be reporting on those 6 branches that were against the PM. For all we know, every other branch (hundreds?, thousands?) supports the PM. One sided.

I use old.reddit.com, and had trouble logging in from there today. "Too many redirects". I also use the Redirect to old.reddit.com extension. When I disabled that, the login link it now takes you to is https://www.reddit.com/login/. That, of course, takes you to www.reddit.com.

The old 'popup' login box has been removed. I also noticed that the in sub logins where they used to have username/password entry boxes have been removed.

More reddit enshitification to try and make us use their horrible UI.

Ok I have a confession to make. I often don't put tomato sauce on things that are ~~expected~~ required by Aussies to have tomato sauce. It's a shameful thing, and I don't want to talk about that.

But, sometimes I must have tomato sauce. The bottle is almost empty, and after upgrading my BBQ sauce and Mayo, surely there is a great bang for the buck tomato sauce.

Choice rated Community Co A Squeeze of Tomato Sauce, available from IGA, as number 1 in 2019 from a list of over 20 tomato sauces/ketchups.

Anyone tried this and can give me a recommendation and reasons on why I should try something else over this?

Ima have to apologise in advance for being a questioning beotch that expects a reference to a scientific study for every statement...after quoting Choice 🤣

So, it appears the first SMR project in the US was scrapped due to rising costs.

An Aussie SMR would take 10-15 years before even being online and we'd be the guinea pigs.

Perhaps it's time to pivot to technology already available and that can be implemented in the short term?

With unprecedented heat waves and record-breaking global temperatures, it’s hard to believe that there might be a place on earth that has actually COOLED since the industrial revolution. But, it turns out, there is such a spot. The COLD BLOB off of Greenland mystified scientists for years, but new studies have uncovered a scary reality - this cool patch might be a warning of the impending collapse of a vital earth circulation system. And the consequences would be dire.
