Special fuck you to the TSA agents at the Vegas airport, they've confiscated my lighter twice even though it's allowed. Never had a problem at any other airport with them.

Also, for a long time one of the only ways a non-rich person could get an education was by joining the clergy

No arguments there, if you're gonna depend on a piece of code, you better own it or have a rock solid plan b.

The "intuitiveness" of imperial measurements is that they're sorta human-scaled, at least for human-sized measurements. An inch is about the same length as the tip of my thumb, a foot is about as big as my foot, a yard is a single pace if I stretch a bit, etc. which makes it easier for a person to picture it.

Once you get out of that scale it really starts to break down though.

The really neat thing about those changes to the meter is that it didn't really change how long a meter was (-ish), it changed the precision of that definition, as well as the ability to reproduce an exact meter, reducing the need for a specific piece of material to define the meter (which changes length based on environment). Now, an exact standard meter can be reproduced independently in any lab with the proper equipment.

Let's take this to the conclusion he wants... advertisers are now forced to put ads on shitter: "Elon Musk is a little piss baby....brought to you by Carl's Jr"

At least with a cigar, you're not inhaling, so most of the major problems from smoking cigarettes doesn't apply. I used to smoke cigarettes, smoke cigars now. Cigarettes would give me real cravings, I couldn't go more than a couple hours without one. I don't get that at all with cigars, I can have one at the campfire at night, and have no need for another after that.

Also, if I have a lighter on me and someone asks, then I'll let them use it. OTOH, some cigar snobs out there insist on using expensive matches to light their cigar, so if that's what he's using, then I can't blame him as much for not wanting to share.

Roblox is about the only reason why I can't switch my kid's computer to Linux, they play almost exclusively that and Minecraft. Once win10 goes EOL, I'll probably start budgeting to replace my laptop with a new PC and give them the laptop. The old PC will then get Linux and handle 3d printer stuffs

I think him "voluntarily" stepping aside helped. If he were primaried, that might not have gone as well as it would look like he got kicked out, and that generally doesn't have a great result for the incumbent party
