The lack of indents on the mouse wheel is a bit of a bummer, but damn that is repairable as heck! Thanks for the recommendation :D

My current mouse, a Logitech G600, is starting to double-click after a couple years of use. Apparently this has become a common issue for the mechanical switches of modern Logitech mice, and gives me an excuse to search for a new mouse that better suits me.

The G600 has 12 buttons on the side of it, which I thought would be useful in certain programs, but I hated using the mapping software on Windows, and ended up never mapping those extra buttons to anything.

So now, I'd like to focus on a simpler mouse that has good Linux support, or alternatively, doesn't require any form of additional software.

I'd also rather get something that won't become e-waste (I plan to solder a new switch into my old mouse and sell it on to fund the new mouse, to prevent it becoming e-waste as well), something that is highly repairable with plentiful replacement parts (aftermarket or OEM).

I'm good with either a wired or wireless mouse, but if it is wireless, Ideally it would use a AAA or AA battery, or a non-proprietary replaceable Lithium battery.

If you know of anything that fits those two bills, I'd certainly appreciate your recommendation! :)

I mean... It stops at the end of a chapter, but that chapter ends on kind've a bombshell, so yes it's abrupt. But it's a damn good story up to that point, so you really want to see what happen-

God dangit, It's Firefly, but without the big damn movie to wrap up the story.

If you're okay with it probably never continuing, I would still recommend it.

Unfortunately not, it hasn't been updated in many years now :(

I've never installed it myself, I've only used it on the instances that offer it, such as my home instance at slrpnk.net.

This was the major plot point of an old web comic I used to read, Mare Internum (warning, attempted suicide on page one). I'm sure the creator is quite happy with this news.

The linearity was a bonus for me, but it was sorta openish, at least in the sense you could visit Lucas burtone on the way to/from missions to get little side quests to steal new faster cars.

That was a fun review, I like the style you went for with it!

I played this back in the day on the 360, which didn't seem to have the bugs you encountered. I recall having a pretty good time with it, and it was short enough not to overstay its welcome. The jumping mechanics and training for it were unique at the time, and I thought it was a nice twist on the WWII formula.

The lacking narrative (or at least, I don't remember one, or any characters) hurt it, as it felt sort of like I was playing a multiplayer game alone at times.

I also thought it was neat how the sniper rifles were more accurate/less wobbly if you slowly squuezed the analog trigger, I'm not sure I've seen that elsewhere.

But yeah, good review, I'd honestly enjoy reading more from you.

After the last two games and the remake, I'm not hopeful. The new devs never got what made the original special, despite its flaws.

Hell yeah man! Getting involved and pushing past our internal boundaries is key to a better future. I'm genuinely glad to hear that video had a positive impact on you, makes sharing them all the more rewarding :D

Absolutely, I consider Bluth's The Secret of NIMH to be an absolute masterpiece (also recommend the book it was based on, btw. Goes in a very different direction, and was compelling even as an adult).

I can see how it might not be to everyone's taste, but this and Treasure Planet I think really nailed the mix of 2D with 3D (treasure planet did it a bit more elegantly, though).

One style of animation that I do find unpleasant is the earlier fully 3D stuff that lives in the uncanny valley, like the first few Final Fantasy movies. Though weirdly I find the even older and more primitive 3D style reminiscent of old MTV music videos, like Reboot to be somewhat charming.

Good find! I always loved the art style of the animation on this one.
