Does nobody check the permission requirements before installing the app that quite literally steals all their data. Like every data tracking option including “other” is selected by the app, it’s so invasive they cannot launch in Europe, but people are choosing to install it?

Ive been using DNS filtering for years and many sites actually collapse the advert space when it’s not used, and while a plug-in certainly can improve the UI, the DNS blocking also disables the resulting tracking, the network requests still happen with the plugins.

Additionally DNS filtering happens outside of a browser as well, so will block ads in literally every app as well, when setup correctly it’s also device independent.

When I still ran my own PiHole, there where days where as much as 60% of the traffic was adverts and trackers.

DNS filtering also extends to blocking things like malware and spam domains

I’m gone, I blocked Reddit on my firewall, it’s inaccessible from my home network or any of my personal devices. I’ve also added uBlacklist to all my browsers to exclude them from search results.

As far as I’m concerned, that site no longer exists.

Honestly, leave them, those who are happy to be called worthless, deserve to stay on Reddit, it’s not like the CEO has been silently insulting them, he’s literally taking a press tour telling everyone who will listen just how little he thinks if he’s users.

Whomever stays after that has absolutely no self worth and sees their entire life’s value in Reddit.

Don’t let their meaningless existence have any impact on your life, all you would be doing is encoring them, you’d be giving them the attention they are soo desperately seeking.

Not surprising, but there are still many ways it can go, even forcing them open may not do anything if the community remains angry, and he’s doing a grate job of trying to put the fire out with a fuel tanker.

Been with 1Password for a few years now, coming from LostPassword. I feel it strikes a balance with the whole being secure and being convenient.
