Wildfires happen, it's hardly a man made action but rather a part of the baseline that we measure our own actions against. The additional amounts added by our actions are the piece we have control of and accountability for.

I have to wonder, how hard would it actually be to set up one of these 'luxury' brand names with 1000% markups and use it to Robin Hood the crap out of a bunch of people with too much money. Pay for the local school renovation via profits off some of those people too high on their own farts to notice those around them.

Never used don't care really but:

users can also force touch a post in order to open a menu with more options.

Their terminology needs some work, force touching is not ok...

Question here, why do the cameras I need to only connect to that one? Using an extender won't create a truly separate net, some might create a NAT to look separate but you can still connect from the extenders net to the host net.

I know Finland isn't exactly friendly with Russia, but the fact that you argue this from an instance run by someone a hop and a skip from Moscow is a beautiful irony...

All trolls, no, but given the notorious prevalence of media manipulation seen out of the region it's a given that some not insignificant portion of the loudest voices are here looking to cause trouble.

WiFi continually beacons out to try and find previously connected networks and will select for the best signal from an AP it can reach. Extenders can be a trick if you're sitting in the 'crossover' space between the extender and the back haul it connects to.

What you might try instead is one of those distributed AP systems like Unifi or similar where all the APs are controlled by a switch and work in unison. The one I have at least has an ability to disconnect someone if they drop below a certain level and migrate them to another AP without breaking the session states.

The other option that I can think of is just turning off the auto connect for the extender net and only using that manually.

What's the odds that these things don't become regular theft targets, even of the drones themselves? Porch pirates are enough of a thing now, can't see any of them feeling bad about robbing a robot.

Dutch museum colonialism is a context for an art photo sale?

Other than it costing ~$4,000 for a print of an old photo which is kinda how art tends to work, I'm not seeing the problem here?

We've permitted bribery for years with that alternate name of lobbying, nothing new really there.

The official acts thing is far more troubling particularly since as I understand it they left the declaration of what is 'official' ambiguous saying the lower courts would have to decide on each case. If so it opens a door for years of infighting as different districts decide their preferred person was working as president or candidate in any given action.

Hey all,

So I'm looking to take an active step here to understand better some things that my straight/white/cis/middle-aged male brain has had a tough time wrapping itself around, particularly in the gender identity front.

I'm working from the understanding of physical sex as the bio-bits and the expressed identity as being separate things, so that part is easy enough.

What's confusing to me though is like this. If we take gender as being an expression of your persona, a set of traits that define one as male, female, or some combination of both then what function does a title/pronoun serve? To assume that some things are masculine or feminine traits seems to put unneeded rigidity to things.

We've had men or women who enjoy things traditionally associated with the other gender for as long as there have been people I expect. If that's the case then what purpose does the need for a gender title serve?

I'll admit personally questioning some things like fairness in cis/trans integrated sports, but that's outside what I'm asking here. Some things like bathroom laws are just society needing to get over itself in thinking our personal parts are all that special.

Certainly not trying to stir up any fights, just trying to get some input from people that have a different life experience than myself. Is it really as simple as a preferred title?

Edit: Just wanted to take a second to thank all the people here who took the time to write some truly extensive thoughts and explanations, even getting into some full on citation-laden studies into neurology that'll give me plenty to digest. You all have shown a great deal of patience with me updating some thinking from the bio/social teachings of 20+ years back. 🙂
