Wow, you were not wrong!

I tired reading it and just couldn't get into it at all. Which is a shame because I've heard good things

Wheel of time I assume

I'm happy to pay if it's good, but it just feels a bit overkill for what we are after.

This one right? Looks like it's $9.99, I'll check on my partners phone and see if it's the same on the actual app store

Thanks for the info, it just seems so strange that there are loads of options on Android and so few on IOS. Everyone seems to have designed their own cloud back up system complete with subscription service.

It does look like "2do" is an option but it is £9.99 and there doesn't seem to be a trial

Ah, that doesn't fill the with confidence!

I'll be sure to post back here if I find anything

Hi everyone,

I've just set up a radicale on my server to share ToDo Lists in my household, and all is going well on my Android phone.

I'm currently struggling to work out the right app to use on IOS that isn't Apple's reminders (my wife hates that app) that supports CalDav.

Any suggestions on what to use?

Forgive the ignorance but does xmpp have the same features as signal, particularly around e2e encryption?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

Sorry, it is nvme

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

I've tried x265 and x264 with the same result.

Thanks for the idea.

It doesn't happen locally or the same times. Definitely seems like some kind of network/jellyfin issue.

No, never used subtitles.

Thanks for the suggestion though

Jellyfin stuttering (lemmy.today)
submitted 8 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hi,

I have recently set up a Jellyfin server running on a Beelink S12 pro in docker (with a few other containers running), and I am having a few problems with stuttering video.

I get little micro-stutters every few seconds regardless of whether it is direct play or transcoding and regardless of what client I use (librelec with Jellyfin plugin), android phone, or firefox on a windows laptop), and I am struggling to narrow down the cause of it.

Any ideas of where I should look first?

The server utilisation seems low, I have tried a wired and wifi connection, I have tried 720, 1080, and 2160 resolution videos, with and without transcoding.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I think I have now fixed the problem. I tried a new setup on my gaming PC and everything worked fine. This was running on the same network and same client. This made me think it was something with my server. I used the cup-shares docker command to prioritise the jellyfin container and I've had no stutters since.

Edit2: turns that has not fixed it 😔

Hi Selfhosted,

I am looking for the best solution to replace spotify for at home and out of the house music.

I already have a large music library and run moOde for multiroom audio and use spotify connect to cast to it.

Is my best option to set up an MPD server and wireguard vpn to use it on the go? Are there other options? What would you recommend?
