Probably the appeal to white guilt and call to action to specifically white people when the vast majority of people on the fediverse are not racist or “anti-black”

It’s also about as cheap to just buy the original consoles than a kitted out mister.

Although if you figure in AV switches, upscalers and everdrive carts, the price for convenience does swing back into the misters favor

When we were young and first married, my wife and I decided to try a church that we had saw online. The website and name made it seem like it would be alright and more modern thinking. We were wrong.

We pull up and the church building is a double wide trailer, a congregation of about 30 people. The preacher appears to be in his 70s.

He sees that he has guests and singles us out and puts us on the spot to introduce ourselves to whole congregation. He never refers to my wife by her name instead just calling her “Wife”. He prays for us multiple times during the service and bring us up during the sermon. (Still just referring to us as TORFdot0 and wife)

Speaking of the sermon, he begins the sermon talking about the gay democrat agenda and how the gays are ruining God’s institution of marriage and how it will soon be illegal to be married to a woman. This gets an audible sigh from the ladies in the front row.

He also preached to cherish our Bible before the black socialist devil in the white house takes them from us.

He compared the Bible to an old hound dog and started barking for going on two minutes. It’s like a dog because it warns us of things to come.

After what seems like an eternity of a sermon, he invites the kids up to the alter for some “Hallelujah” Candy (it’s the Sunday before Halloween). One child takes a second handful of candy and the elderly pastor chastises him and then bends him over his knee and starts spanking him in front of the congregation.

Needless to say we did not give that church a second visit.

You are free to block communities or even whole instances if you want.

I don’t particularly care for the anti-western hegemony, anti-capitalist, attitudes from a minority of users there that can’t help themselves but make every post political but i still enjoy the content from the rest.

The health of the network depends on being able to have a lot of different viewpoints and servers federated which each other. It’s better for users to block content and users that are bothersome to them than admins to defederate for political reasons (harassment, legal and liability issues of course are reasonable still)

Either is better than a 7” inch phone like the Pro Max. But I don’t know how reliable the flip form factor is yet.

I had the first gen razer before my current mini and it stopped working after about 6 months of use. It just stopped reading touch input after flipping it shut one day.

Bin this and bring back the mini so we can have a proper small form factor phone

Authorities demand back doors for platforms instead of doing their jobs so that they can spy on and trample the rights of political enemies and creep on people in their communities.

The tools for authorities to stop perpetrators without trampling on our rights are there but that doesn’t let them abuse their power.

I tried it over a decade ago, the 3rd party app on windows phone I was using was pulled and so I had no desire to use it once I was on iOS and android a few years later.

Never really saw the appeal of “stories” feels like attention seeking to me. Sending shitpost photos that you don’t care to keep to friends makes a little more sense but still not my bag

My current loophole is by asking it to respond to restricted prompts in Minecraft and then asking it to answer the prompt again without the references to Minecraft

Lemmy doesn’t track your cumulative karma as far as I can tell. So it’s not really farming since you don’t even get a badge that says you have a big pp for it

If Apple wants to compete in the gaming market they need to release an Apple TV powered by the Apple Silicon M series processor and a big SSD.

Only the $1000 latest pro phone can play the AAA games. No one is buying a thousand dollar phone for Resident Evil when it’s $70 for the console they probably already have.

If you can convince people to get a $300 Apple TV whose games you can also natively play on your phone you might have a chance

It’s the semis in most leagues. One win away from the championship. We have games all weekend into Monday this week so I’m starting the game thread a bit early.

Good luck to all of you in the playoffs and a Merry Christmas to those who partake. Leave your comments on the games below!

It’s round 1 of the playoffs in most leagues. Hope you had a good Saturday. If you started LaPorta, Chandler, Addison, or Amon-Ra you did!

Poor weather expected for Cowboys vs Bills and Falcons vs Panthers so downgrade those kickers and upgrade the defenses.

Tonight we have Baltimore vs Jacksonville on the docket and Monday we have the Seahawks and eagles in the first ever flexed Monday night football game.

Best of luck to everyone in the playoffs, and better luck next year for those of us who missed out on the sweet nectar of the playoffs. Leave your comments on todays action below!

While I’m dubious of the claim due to the robust permissions management in the latest versions of iOS and Android, it is interesting that a company has come out and said they are doing what everyone is thinking.

And yes they are a subsidiary of the parent of Cox Communications, the ISP, so I would be switching to a competitor ASAP if I had their services

Congrats to @MooDib @TORFdot0 @TheDaveAbides @Holomew as the four playoff teams in the inaugural season of the community fantasy league.

It turns out that default settings for the playoffs are 2 weeks per matchup for both the semis and the championship. That would drag the playoffs into week 18 for the second half of the championship.

The question I have for the other 3 playoff teams (I’m abstaining so there is no conflict of interest), how do we want to handle the championship? Handle it according to the ESPN default for a 2 week championship? Change matchups to a single week and have the championship in week 16? Disregard week 18 and just manually declare the champion after week 17 (ESPN doesn’t support setting one round for two weeks and the next round for one week).

Let me know your vote below.

It’s the fantasy playoffs. It’s time for win now mode and to work the wire accordingly. In this thread we name a player to claim off waivers and can start in the playoffs, name a player to cut (no kickers or defenses please), and a player to stash (we kind of are running out of time here folks)

For most of us, it’s the last week of the regular season. Hopefully you’ve clinched. Otherwise the cards are all on the table to get in.

Commanders and Cards are on Bye. Eagles and Cowboys play tonight. Two games tomorrow, titans at Dolphins and Packers at Giants.

Good luck to all your playoff hopes, leave your comments on today’s action below!

I’ve been determined to finally beat Zelda II and determine that I would do it without save states and without a guide.

I know Zelda II is considered a black sheep somewhat but I really think in some ways it’s more fun than the original although I’d still pick Zelda 1 over II.

In this thread, we name one player to add from waivers, one player to stash for the playoffs when waivers clear, and one player to cut (no defenses or kickers please)

The playoffs may have started in some leagues with a 2 week championship. The last week of byes is here. Leave the players you are considering below!

Just a week or two left in the fantasy football season. DK Metcalf owners are happy so far (if they didn’t leave him on the bench after that thanksgiving dud!)

Some weather in a few games. Rain in NE and snow in GB as the chiefs take on the Packers tonight.

Tomorrow night the Bengals take on the Jags. Good Luck to everyone, hope you clinch the playoffs tonight!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. We are down to only a week or two left of waivers before the playoffs. In this thread list a player you are hoping to get on waivers, a player you would stash when waivers clear, and a player cut.

We have a MacBook Air 2013 that is on its last legs and we need to replace it. My wife also wants an iPad so that she can read our Apple News+ subscription and watch movies in bed. I feel like the most cost effective solution is to get a keyboard case for the iPad and use it as the laptop replacement. The only thing we use the MacBook Air for is normal web browsing, ordering pictures prints via the web, some home office work using Google Docs, and I use it to remote to my PC when I don't feel like going to my basement office.

I don't see why a keyboard case wouldn't suffice in this scenario. The Magic Keyboard trackpad entices me, especially potentially not having to rewire any muscle memory with normal web usage, using google docs, or when I remote to my PC. But is the web browsing experience nerfed enough by iPadOS that its not worth spending $300 on the Magic Keyboard? Is it better to get the cheaper Smart Keyboard Folio case and try to use the Apple Pencil for the same workflow instead?

Just curious what this community's experience with these accessories are. Thanks in advance for the input.
