It blocks (or skips) YouTube ads. I use it in conjunction with 1Blocker to get all ads.

I use Reeder (https://apps.apple.com/app/id1529445840) on my iPad and iPhone. Before it allowed you to subscribe I was using Feedly.

I use it for digital books and it works great. You can configure it to send a book to an email so it appears automatically. The auto tagging works well too.

I have an Andalusia leather case and I love it. It’s lasted far longer than any other case and it still looks great.

Not sure I trust the image. My hearth is not worth that much.

The mints were the strangest one in this box for me. But after reading the supplied card and then tasting them I was actually really impressed.

It’s definitely a highlight of each month getting these.

I’m sad it will end at the end of the year.

I could, but I feel like that shouldn’t be the solution. I’m using the original AppleTV 4K.

I agree. I feel like this must not be a product that anyone that makes decisions at Apple actually uses. I imagine there’s a big part of they get and have access to everything for free that they don’t ever come across these issues themselves.

This is driving me nuts. My wife and I are watching The Office. I’ve purchased the whole series through Apple. Every once in a while I go in to continue watching and rather than just playing it from the only place I’ve ever watched it it instead decides to open it in the Peacock app. I’ve never watched The Office in the Peacock app. Then to continue I have to find it in my library and scroll to the episode I’m watching.

Anyone else have this issue?

Any luck? Did you end up making biscuits?

submitted 11 months ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Made these the other day for some biscuits and gravy. Forgot to take a picture but they are incredibly delicious.

Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients: 2 Cup flour 2 teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon granulated sugar ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup butter 1 cup buttermilk

Directions: Preheat oven to 400° fahrenheit. Conbine the flour, baking powder, soda, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the butter. Add buttermilk until a nice dough forms (may not be all of it). Roll out and cut biscuits. Bake fir 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Does anyone know of a self hosting option for hosting ebooks? I keep hoping there is an open source library type app where I could add my ebooks and host them for myself and others.

Does anyone know a way to get rid of the “Other” category in the messages app? I click on the item and nothing populates. There is no way to see what is there or to take any action. iOS 16.6.

Coconut Bread (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I haven't made this in a while so don't have a picture of it handy, but it's one of my favorite recipes for sweet bread. I'd make it almost weekly if the family liked coconut. As it stands it wouldn't be healthy for me as the only one that eats it...

Coconut Bread

Ingredients: Coconut Bread:

4 Eggs 1 Cup Vegetable Oil 2 Cups Sugar 1 Cup Buttermilk 1 teas. Coconut Extract 3 Cups Flour 1/2 teas. Baking Soda 1/2 teas. Baking Powder 1/2 teas. Salt 1 Cup Coconut

Syrup:

1 Cup Sugar 2 Tablespoons Butter 1/2 Cup Water

Directions: Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease 2 bread pans with butter. Mix all the dry ingredients except for the coconut together and whisk. Mix all the wet ingredients together. Add the dry to the wet and mix until it just starts to come together. Add coconut. Bake at 325°F for 1 hour. About 10 minutes before the bread is done start mixing together the syrup. Add all the ingredients to a small sauce pan and stir constantly till boiling. Turn down heat, but keep it at a boil. Boil for 5 minutes. After removing the bread from the oven take a knife and run it along the edges of the bread. Pour syrup over the top of each loaf when you remove from oven and allow to cool in pans (or don’t, your choice).

I make this recipe once a week for my girls. I usually double the dry mix and store it in a large container then just mix up the wet and add to the dry. Makes it almost as easy as making from a mix, but infinitely better.

Pancakes

Ingredients: Dry Mix 3 1/2 cup flour ¼ cup sugar 4 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt

Wet 1 egg 1 tablespoon melted butter 1 cup buttermilk ¼ teaspoon vanilla

Directions: Make dry mix and store in large Tupperware till you are ready to make fresh pancakes. Take 1 cup of dry mix and add to a large bowl. Mix wet ingredients together until uniform in texture and color. Add to dry. Mix till relatively smooth. Doesn’t need to be perfectly smooth. Let sit for 5-8 minutes. Cook on medium grill or pan.

I’m looking to move from a Synology NAS with Plex to get something dedicated that is more powerful/can do more transcoding streams at once.

What is everyone using and how many streams can you transcode at once?

The one thing that drives me crazy with the built in mail app is that if you delete a message it takes you to the next rather than taking you back to the inbox. Been hoping for this option forever.
