But surely people who would consider installing this extension are not the same people clicking and talking about "them"? Or are people really addicted to reading and reposting Musk etc.. and need an intervention?

Exactly, you have to see what they're doing to know how to counter it (or even know that it exists). Living in a bubble isn't going to help us. Maybe you should install this on your kid's computer?

It's not going to completely die (soon), but it's lost what used to make it special/different. Just look at the posts topping the popular subs - it's a shadow of its former self. Unfortunately I can't see anything really replacing it either. Times have moved on, I guess...

Go to "communities", select "all" and search for the subreddit equivalents you want. Then you can subscribe to them - their posts will be visible when you browse by "subscribed" on the main page. "Subscribed" is basically the equivalent of "Home" on reddit.
