Canvas happens in 336 hours! (or 2 weeks, take your pick)

At the end of the event, i’ll be selling prints of the Canvas to help fund the project 🎉 (and i’ll also be selling last year’s prints, but this year only 👀)

details for the sale have not been announced (the post will get pinned in [email protected] & posted on the mastodon account)

I am also planning to sell various instance’s logos as vinyl stickers, with the profits going towards those instances

If you are an instance admin and want to join in on that, send me a message on Matrix (@grant:aftermath.gg), send me an email ([email protected]) or send me a message on Discord (grahhnt), whatever works best for you

when the event goes live, it'll be a website you can login to and place pixels

the login system sends a DM to your account with a code to verify your identity, no passwords are used

I already have plans in the work to sell Canvas prints of this year's and last year's 🙏🎉

the proceeds from the print sales (and possibly other items) will go to funding Canvas itself (and maybe other fediverse.events things)

always wondered this, but kept forgetting to post it

eg users would be on @[email protected] and a community would be on @[email protected] or something like that

then it would still follow the AP spec but still allow for identical identifiers (like a user account being @[email protected] and a community also being [[email protected]](/c/[email protected]))

the ones i'm aware of:

google's recaptcha
~~cloudflare's~~ hcaptcha

cloudflare being better for privacy compared to google, but still not great afaik

i love content warning on steam and noticed the in-game youtube clone can be used directly in a domain, and i immediately thought of peertube

this peertube instance is intended for the game clips that are generated in-game such as this one

i'd love to add a steam login feature to expand but we'll see lol

enjoy
