The best way I've found- copy the url of the community you want to join, then go to your home instance, click the 3 bars menu top right, click the spyglass icon search, paste into the search text bar, search, it should provide a link to that community, click on that, then expand the "sidebar" button and click subscribe

Shoot for the moon, ask for 1.5-2x what you need. Everywhere I've worked has overpaid so much for contractors

You could set a timer to do it, if you were going to be away or asleep

I put my lemmy app on my home screen where my reddit app was. Amazing how mindess the action of opening it had become

I saw a Farmville themed slot machine recently. Like a time warp to 2007

Oh hell yes. I call it creeping "dog culture". Hard to find a brewpub that isn't overrun by them. Nobody in my town obeys leash laws. Grocery stores are the grossest.

You gotta subscribe more, it helps you and others on your instance. I do 2 things- sort by new/all and subscribe to anything interesting, but that's only what others on your instance already subscribed to. The other thing is to use a search tool to find specific interests across instances, I came across this - https://lemmyverse.net/communities

Guy is acting more and more musk-like, that's enough for me to bolt. But I did exclusively use RIF app for last ~13 yrs. Whenever a Google search took me to native page I was shocked at how unusable it was on mobile
