Boox are a GPL violator and refuse to share source they are legally obligated to. They can get the fuck out of here.

It's normal if you accept it. You do not have to accept it. There's also a good chance that it's illegal in Spotify's case, if not in the US then likely in Europe.

It's not open source, unavailable on non-apple platforms, and (ironically) needs something like Plex for remote playback.

Is there an English language focused instance?

First 3 may be true, but the company's been around for 5+ years.

Many newer games require it and run great, Star Wars Outlaws is the first one that comes to mind.

Actually I take it all back, the support for push notifications isn't in Lemmy itself yet. It's not practically usable for you.

Replies, mentions and messages, afaik. Not sure what other kind of notifications you'd be expecting.

Thunder has experimental support for it. You'll also need a unifiedpush distributor installed. F-Droid has a good explainer on UnifiedPush at https://f-droid.org/2022/12/18/unifiedpush.html

It doesn't matter anymore if he had a point.

Matt Mullenweg thinks he is Wordpress. He has been leveraging his position for his own financial gain for 20 years. He's been pulling egotistical power moves like this the whole time, just against much weaker opponents. But now he's taken on a private equity venture with more financial backing than him, and he's about to get wrecked because he's been a complete amateur trying to extort them.

My prediction is this will finally dethrone him and shift Wordpress to a true community run model.

Click on "Hello, Social Web 👋🏼" it's actually a link to a blog post even if it just looks like part of the landing page.

I've been running stock Fedora for about 5 years, but I'm really interested in immutable distros after putting Bazzite on my TV Gaming PC. Batteries-included works well for me in a use case like that.

I have about a decade of experience with containerisation, so leveraging that experience for my desktop is really appealing.

I took a look at Bluefin for my laptop, but it seems to be more opinionated than I'd like. I'm good with having an optimised kernel and tooling that makes sense for an immutable distro, but wasn't a huge fan of preconfigured Gnome extensions and the software I don't want.

I haven't tried Silverblue yet, but I plan to do that next. Vanilla OS is on my list too, but more out of curiosity in how it does things.

My questions are: should I be looking at any other distros? Do I need to shift my expectations of an immutable distro even more?
