When I was in 7th or 8th grade, I did just that while waiting for first class. I sat opposite a girl in the corridor and was staring right at her crotch, completely zoned out. When I came to, I realized what I was looking at and looked up at her quite angry face. I then, very smoothly I thought, blushed to a tomato red color and faked a zoning out with my gaze in another direction. Crisis averted.

Well color me shocked.
Es ist niemals zu spΓ€t auszugeben? Studied German in school in the 80s, but have almost never used it in anger. Been in Germany a number of times, but people switch to English when I try because their English is usually waaaay better than my German. Did not run the above through a translator so I would be shocked if my translation above is anywhere near accurate.
I know a bit of German, but had to run that through a translator. Fitting saying considering your moniker. πΏοΈ
In Swedish it would probably be "trΓ€gen vinner". I personally prefer "det Γ€r aldrig fΓΆr sent att ge upp". π«
