Ooo I like that.

That’s so scary. Hope he gets better soon. I also like the bit about getting permission.

As always, thanks for all the hard work

I dunno, I think that might be legally binding.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

Well, shit. That sucks.

Ah. Sounds weird lol

Lol what was the main event?

Willow and Kris was wild. I hurt just watching it.

Not a lawyer, but I remember years ago people talking about and wanting someone to go to court with WWE over the employee v independent contractor stuff. But they’re such a juggernaut, I figured it’d never happen.

So many lawsuits go nowhere so who knows if anything will really happen here, but that seems the only really interesting detail. After all, I think Kevin Kelly has done enough to tarnish his own reputation without the help of others.

Yeah, while they’ve brought some people in since it still feels like they haven’t fully recovered since those departures. They can pretty easily elevate a few, but still need a few more people, I think.

I wish the best for Gisele. I hadn’t seen her before she showed up in TNA and really enjoyed when she played the first boss to beat when new people came in. I kinda thought this would be her year to become KO champ.

I was just wondering the other day why she hadn’t turned back up yet. That’s a pretty damn good reason to be off TV. Congrats to them.

Coming in at a little under 30 minutes, this is a pretty fun interview I just listened to. She talks about that awesome Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3 cosplay she did, some other stuff about cosplay in wrestling, a little about playing Baldur's Gate 3, and there's a fun wrestling finisher or DnD monster quiz for her toward the end.

Scott D'amore has been terminated from TNA.

He’ll still appear at a few NJPW shows in February.

This feels wild.

Deonna is right here. While it’ll feel odd to get used to her gone from TNA, she had done pretty much everything. Looks like Gisele Shaw will get a chance to move up the card now, too.

I think it’s fair to say JR has had some highs and lows in AEW so far. Using him for bigger matches so he has his energy up seems to work well though. At the very least, it would be cool to get him to commentate for Sting’s last match.

I went and saw The Iron Claw tonight with my brother and thought I’d share my thoughts. Unless you’re completely unaware of the movie or family involved, I’d say this is a non-spoilery post.

Taking it in as a sports drama, I think it did a fantastic job. Yeah, I felt weird going in knowing that Chris wasn’t in the movie, but by the end I understood why the filmmakers made the decision, even if I still feel a little weird about it.

I got the impression they didn’t have the biggest budget, but worked well within it. After all, the focus is so much on the acting, that it doesn’t matter that it’s not a flashy movie. Speaking of the acting, I was impressed by Zac Efron. Lily James actually felt important as Kevin’s wife, Pam, and kind of grounded portions of the story. I was also surprised by how much it made me care about Mike. I really enjoyed that actor.

If you’re a stickler for facts, you might struggle watching the movie. The timing of some events is a bit wonky, but worked well for a drama. If you can turn off that part of the brain, ignore things like ring rope colors, I think you’ll enjoy the movie a lot.

As far as the common complaints from wrestling fans that I’ve seen: while a lot of Fritz’s worst actions aren’t shown, I don’t think audiences won’t be horrified by him. Some people near me gasped at some of the stuff Fritz said. And the Ric Flair stuff seems a bit overblown now that I’ve seen it. Ric Flair shows up for a short time and it’s just not a perfect impression (and a bad wig). Meanwhile, I was captivated by the Harley Race segment.

I plan on recommending it to drama, and especially sports drama, fans. And I wouldn’t mind buying it once it’s out. If you’re susceptible to ear worms, you’ll probably get some of the music stuck in your head.

And happy new year, everyone!

Whoa, didn’t expect this news.

Didn’t he stop by in ROH/AEW recently? I guess maybe that didn’t go well. I’ve heard lots of people say he has a good mind for backstage stuff.

We're getting closer to the end of 2023. All in all, I think it's been a good year in wrestling. Is there anything you'd like to see happen before we ring in 2024? A new champ crowned? The end of a storyline? A major breakout win for one of your favorite wrestlers?

I'm mostly a "I just hope we all have fun" type of fan, so I don't have too many major things I'm hoping for. A silly holiday themed street fight featuring Jeff Jarrett does sound pretty fun though.

From the biggest promotions to the smallest, champions to rookies, kayfabe or not, which wrestlers do you think are having an amazing year?

(Also, hope I’m doing this right. This is my first post.)
