I haven't gotten to this one yet but it sounds apppealing. It's on my list of things to check out to this week

Enjoying my Sunday morning coffee with Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation!

Thanks to [email protected] for reminding me of this awesome album!

Here's a song I like from 1992!

Leave Them All Behind - Ride

Honorable mention: all of Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 85-92

It's my turn to post an R.E.M song! Also not a duet but that's okay.

When I was a kid my sister bet me that I couldn't memorize all the lyrics to this song... I proved her wrong! And I still remember most of it!

🎶 It's the end of the world as we know it! 🎶

It was actually their 2013 tour when I saw them. So two years after this video. I was thinking it was earlier than that. I saw them at a small venue called Akron Musica in Akron, Ohio, USA.

I saw them live probably around the time this video was made! It was really cool to see them do their thing with the loop pedals.

Yes. The fast-paced vocals work perfectly for the bluegrass style

Very cool. I like hearing that bassline on an upright bass

Oh man. This is excellent.

Here is a cover of Taylor Swift's Love Story by black midi. Their bassist who doesn't often perform vocals sings here. And they added a saxophone solo!

Did someone say bluegrass Radiohead covers? Chris Thile/The Punch Brothers have you covered. Here's a few selections. They have more if you dive into youtube.

Paranoid Android

Packt Like Sardines in a Crushed Tin Box

Hovvdy is duo from Austin, Texas and I just really love this song from their 2021 album True Love.

The San Cisco post reminded me of another Aussie indie pop act that I first heard around the same time. This is the first Ball Park Music song I ever heard but they actually have a lot of good stuff in my opinion.

Here's a release from last Friday that I really enjoyed. It's the 2nd album by Oscar Lang out of the UK. Some personal lyrics mixed with some indie pop sounds. A little bit psychedelic at times. Some cool orchestral stuff too. Check it out!

Allegra Krieger’s fourth record and her first with Double Double Whammy – is her most mature and alluring work yet. It contains all the signatures of her best lyricism: delicate and precise phrasings, moments that flicker between beauty and banality, meaning that forms through the accretion of observations, memories, and unexpected adages...

Before being known as the lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Alex Ebert was the singer is dance-punk group Ima Robot. Definitely check it out if you only have heard Edward Sharpe. It was a bit of a shock for me when I learned Ebert was the singer for both groups.

This song in particular is very fun and energetic and for me it's nostalgic since it was on the soundtrack of 2003 snowboarding video game SSX 3.

A bit of a slower week for me at least. I have a handful of albums I plan to check out but nothing I'm particularly excited about.

Please share any new releases from this week that you guys are excited about!

I really enjoyed this. The style is very much "del toro" and the stop motion animations were excellent. One of the best stop motion animated movies I've seen.

What are your thoughts on this movie if you've seen it?

What is your favorite stop motion animated movie?
