That was the idea of Google glasses but it was too early and tech wasn't ready. It was gonna give you just enough useful info and get out of the way.

Plus Google haters made "glass-holes" viral.

Probably ok with VPN if you never allow the phone to detect its location (gps and cell towers) cause Apple would know immediately.

But that begs the question of what happen to EU users traveling outside the EU region?

For use with a Mr coffee drip machine, sure. When used with a $3k espresso machine, sensible.
