sorry, these are Khamenei's words from a speech today. I found the "we have evidence" part interesting.

for now it is, Iraqi officials seem really worried about the situation in Syria and what these freaks are going to do. I can't imagine all these ISIS guys aren't going to want to export the 'revolution' again.

I have never been more proud to be from Iran, the only country that's always been safe for us middle eastern minorities.

agreed, this sounds like one of the few times the western "we'll sanction them and make everyone's life such living hell that they'll overthrow the government" thing has ever worked.

the currency stuff is a good point. because of sanctions on Syria, they had to store most of their assets in Lebanon and then when the Lebanese pound collapsed a few years ago, it exacerbated things 1000x.

yeah I can't stand this scumbag.

It’s funny, because looking at this guy’s timeline, reality has already smacked him in the face. He’s retweeting about Salafists asking reporters what sect they belong to and how the NATO and its allies are going a smash and grab right now in Syria.

I don't see any of that on his timeline, mind taking a screenshot? maybe it's because he blocked me

I've always openly supported him and idc. I'm Assyrian, and the only thing ever standing between us (and other minority groups) and being slaughtered en masse was Bashar. it's only been days, and there's already mass executions of minorities, destruction of churches, persecution, etc.

edit: these are Khamenei's words and from a speech today btw, I feel like my screenshot was bad and confused people

yeah my personal theory is the SAA command was bribed to surrender. US has done this in the past and Bashar has kinda hinted at it. and the soldiers just didn't give a shit anymore; the Syrian state was so broke and hollowed out, people were barely even paid.

imo they're going to eventually regret this. you can't ignore the world and just focus on internal development when the enemy is surrounding you and intent on destroying you.
