Broke mine last year, took a surgery and 6 months of physical therapy to get close to normal. I also couldn’t sleep for a month, every little movement would hurt. Broke it by wrecking on my bike

I owe a debt of gratitude to Gene and the entire crew. I was doubting my religion, and felt like I was losing my moral compass in the process. I was asking myself what type of person I wanted to be. The values that TNG showed me helped me in the 10 years since — being open to other cultures and their beliefs (Half a Life), to hold truth above others, and nothing can break that (Chain of Command), and to live my life more open, honestly, and fully (Inner Light)

I condemn false prophets, I condemn the effort to take away the power of rational decision, to drain people of their free will--and a hell of a lot of money in the bargain. Religions vary in their degree of idiocy, but I reject them all. For most people, religion is nothing more than a substitute for a malfunctioning brain. -Gene Roddenberry

The idea that after 30 years that movie is still awesome

Also that the killer messed with the best (those 8 people killed) so he died like the rest (of other mass killers)

It’s a double entendres

It’s a quote from the movie “Hackers”

[-] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Oh shit, it was deleted by a moderator! “Mess with the best, die like the rest” is a quote from the movie “Hackers”, and ZeroCool was the hackers name in the movie. It also is OPs username. I thought the quote was relevant to the post as well

Basically Stealth IRL.

BTW, fucking coolest, most underrated movie ever IMO

I've been a programmer 20 years and the bay area for 10, worked both startups and FANG, and that show nailed my damn life. Like, right on target. The subtle plot lines were completely on point. The blatant jokes were too real

Not a fan of BBT though

My dad is 75 and rides an ebike. He wrecked a few months back going about 20mph into a costco parking lot. He strained a groin muscle pretty bad. But he healed up and was fine 1-2 months later, and you know why? Because he wasn't a lazy fat ass his whole life.

About the second coming:

The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

It's low key why a lot if people don't want to do anything about it, they see it as the second coming of Christ

Whataboutism isn't a buzzword, it's a logical fallacy. Its exactly what you are saying, "what about Biden though!" while completely ignoring the point being discussed, which is that we want an alternative to trump

[-] [email protected] 17 points 6 months ago

Nobody is saying Biden is great, I agree we could do better. So stop with the whataboutism. If it weren't against Trump, there might be more tradeoffs to talk about. But right now it's pretty much "anyone but Trump"

I dont get notifications to replys on comments. I was wondering if this was intentional or not, or if I'm just not finding a setting.

Also since I'm asking, is this open source code? I'd love to contribute

Love the app, its much better than alternatives.
