There aren't any; I might feel differently if you were a commercial enterprise, but since you're basically recreating /r/random, I'm ok with it.

Also suggest cross-posting this to [email protected] - did for ya.

You got some good results, but locking.

I checked out of antiwork about the time of their TV/PR fiasco. I know the original intent of the sub was to be opposed to all work (I am oversimplifying), but it was coopted by a larger "lets make work better by calling out bad actors and bad behaviors" movement, which is what attracted me to it. Then the original mods kinda shot the movement in the foot and I stopped checking in.

Is the new /c/antiwork a return to their roots of "all work BAD, down with all work" or the larger "lets make work better" ethos?

You’re using a no true scottsman fallacy by the way

Today I learned.

I suppose what I meant is the pundits frequently hold up having their Facebook posts removed as state censorship, that this is somehow in violation of their constitutionally protected right to expression - and its not. It IS censorship by a private body in a forum completely of that private entity's control, yet they wave the word censorship around to convince others that somehow its a shadowy conspiracy by the deep state or whatever to clamp down on freedom of expression.

Well. My 126k Reddit karma and $2.50 can buy a cup of coffee.

Heh. yeah. my handwriting in high school and college was so garbage I couldn't even read my own handwriting, so what good is it really?

I am mildly annoyed that kids these days don't know this. Then I get annoyed at me for getting annoyed - why would they? we haven't had a CRT in the house since '04. It would be like getting exasperated because us 80s kids didn't know how to tap out morse code on the telegraph.

The 509 section on Applicability seems to restrict this to services specifically targeting or deliberately creating environments suitable for, or providing attractions that can only be reasonably targeted to minors.

So if you don't create kidzone.world or a blues clues community you're probably alright, if you can show you don't target or encourage minor participation.

Yep. Tho how many of those are redundant communities across multiple instances. Still, very exciting times for the lemmyverse.

I think the big killer feature (if this can even be done) is to associate like named communities from different instances. Like [email protected] <--> [email protected] marry up and start subscribing/replicating each other's content.

Wait, you guys have a retirement plan?

I do enjoy watching a bit of sportsball. You know the thing where fans of red guys and fans of blue guys chirp and bantz at each other about which colour is the losers and which colour owns, and you hurl insults at the refs for making a call even if it was probably correct.

So what are the biggest sports communities are on lemmy? And/or are there any instances that have more sports than others?

Considering the size of lemmy, I'm not even in the mood to be picky about which sport it is. I just want to tell someone else on lemmy that their team sucks.

Exciting to see so much new traffic in Lemmy the past few days.

While I don't think recreating Reddit in the Fediverse is necessarily a good idea, there were a few subs that really helped me discover new content. I looked, and didn't see anything directly comparable, so I created two new communities:

https://lemmy.ca/c/lemmy411 - yep - can't find what you're looking for (or perhaps what instance it might be on?) ask here.

https://lemmy.ca/c/wowthislemmyexists - find something cool? post about it here for others to discover as well.

(this will be cross-posted to a few other places like other instance main communities as well)
