One of the biggest problems in research is that there is no control: We don't know what would have happend without the seeding. So we can only compare random storms that are seeded and not. Here the differences are very small (i.e. statistically insignificant). But that doesn't mean it has no effect.

Also I think we should be careful when using such things at large scale, as we just don't know the outcome. In small quantities it is however no hazard at all.

It is unclear if seeding actually has a large enough impact on hail formation.

Puh, in meiner Verwandtschaft ist die freie Marktwirtschaft zu stark in den Köpfen. Sie sind fest der Überzeugung, dass private Unternehmen IMMER effizienter (=günstiger) sind...

Yeah, but I don't see the point. If I'm looking for a song, I don't want porn. It's not like you'd find more than enough porn when searching for it.

My guess is it was a way to "hide" it, when back on the day most people shared a computer. But idk

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

I never really asked why everything was porn. But like... why?

As a child my parents didn't want to give me their credit card (like fair enough), but so I had to find other ways.

Then payed for netflix for a while and was pretty happy with it. Since you have to have like 13 streamubg services of which only about half are available on my country I found Plex. Now I use Jellyfin and couldn't be happier.

We report that overexpression of Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome Protein Family Member 3 (WASF3), here identified in a 38-y-old woman suffering from long-standing fatigue and exercise intolerance, can disrupt mitochondrial respiratory supercomplex formation and is associated with endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Increased expression of WASF3 in transgenic mice markedly decreased their treadmill running capacity with concomitantly impaired respiratory supercomplex assembly and reduced complex IV levels in skeletal muscle mitochondria. WASF3 induction by ER stress using endotoxin, well known to be associated with fatigue in humans, also decreased skeletal muscle complex IV levels in mice, while decreasing WASF3 levels by pharmacologic inhibition of ER stress improved mitochondrial function in the cells of the patient with chronic fatigue.

I had the Miyoo Mini V2 for some time now and was pretty happy with the little thing. I now also got the Plus, since the V2 felt a bit too small and multiplayer options seem really fun via netplay.

When I play on the Plus, especially in GBA games, the FPS is considerably lower than on the V2. E.g. in Pokemon Emerald, I get 300+ on the V2, but only 100-150 on the Plus when fat-forwarding. I set the fast-forward speed to “Unlimited” in OnionOS settings for both. On the Plus, it also feels a lot choppier.

Does anyone have similar experiences?

From the games and shows, which soundtrack do you like the most?

The music from the Netflix series is kinda the best thing about it. But Witcher 3 is my favorite. The older games are also nice, but just really feel like game music from the 2000s. I don't like the music from the Blood Origins, but also haven't watched it...

In Germany, animal farms are declining. Around -30% since 1990 for Swines and -36% for dairy cows since 2013.

Minus 11% ist in einem Jahr schon beachtlich. Ich denke da kommt die nächsten Jahre noch automatisch einiges dazu, so wie die Preise für vegane Alternativen fallen

Maybe some of you don't know about Bookwyrm yet (I have seen some links in this community though!). It is like GoodReads for tracking and sharing your reading, finding lists and rate books, but it is federated just like Lemmy :)
