This is actually super cool and good info going into the race as a fan. I didn’t know they did these.

He didn’t get it yet.

I’m not sure you know what objectively means.

Lulz. 😂

Anyway, I’m not an advocate for the EC, I think the winner should be the winner of the popular vote. But that’s not the system we have. You can’t say The Chiefs aren’t legitimate SB champs because you don’t agree with some rule in place. That’s just not how it works. I mean, you can, but no one is going to take you seriously.

If you have an issue with the EC, talk about that. But to say every president elected by the EC and not popular vote is illegitimate is just nonsense.

I’m comprehension is fine. Your understanding of how presidents are elected in this country seems lacking.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

And yet, they are.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Which is, unfortunately, how we elect the president in this country. He won.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

And yet, you’re wrong aren’t you?

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

But that’s not how our system is setup. If you have a problem, talk or do something about the electoral college. But to pretend legally and legitimately elected presidents who won within the rules of the system as were defined at the time of their running are somehow illegitimate is some wonky revisionist history.

I’m as anti Trump as anyone, but I have some bad news for you - he was legitimately voted into office as the President and his appointments are therefore legitimate.

What McConnell did in blocking Obama’s appointment should be criminal. That BS needs to change.

I…what? Do you mean lost the popular vote?

I find that it is hard to follow a conversation when the username is at the bottom of the comment, especially with longish comments. Not only that, but a comment loses context when you don’t have an idea who is making the comment before you read it - having to scroll down to first read the username and then back up to read the comment is not great UX imo.

It would be great to have an option to move usernames for comments to the top of the comment.

Loving the app so far!

Having used a bunch of Lemmy apps, I have a few feature requests if you’re so inclined:

  • I must be missing it or maybe it’s a bug in my app, but I don’t see a way to submit a post to a community.
  • I love the comment reply system in Avelon, where it shows the post/comment you’re reply to, it’s soooo well done. I’d like a text format/markdown bar added if possible (see Bean).
  • Would love the option in reducing the size of the horizontal line between posts in the list view (I’m using compact mode), and/or the option to remove the line/gap altogether.
  • Lastly the scrolling isn’t as smooth as a couple other apps (this seems like a common issue for most Lemmy apps so you’re not alone here).

Overall awesome work! Thank you for your time and effort and I look forward to future Avelon releases!

I would like to be able to see the username/account of the poster on the post “list” view - All, Local, Home, etc.

Would love a way to group communities I find similar, that was I can view the group and get all the posts about a topic from multiple communities over many instances. Bean app has this feature. Think multireddits for a Reddit comparison.
