Isn't GitTea still under the MIT? I just don't see the purpose for switching licenses, I didn't think it was significantly different. It really doesn't matter to me though, I didn't plan on creating a custom version anyway.

I thought that the idea of just explaining to instance hosters that they can start user-like scripts on every page might be a good enough plugin system for LemmyUI until there's more effort into a real plugin system. Users don't have to install extensions, and people running instances can make decisions for improving the UI.

With a centralized services like reddit, this doesn't work very well. Though the fediverse allows lots of customizations when it's related to themes.

These are great, I’ve been using the accetto firefox images for several years. I was surprised recently when I purchased a $5 VPS and was able to use it without performance issues. I actually like using TigerVNC more with it than NoVNC because the quality is usually better, and it just seems to work better in full screen. Though, NoVNC lets you setup a machine then easily send it to someone to continue or collaborate.

There’s also neko and some other related projects that aren’t completely the same, but slightly better for collaboration.

I did this for free because I liked it. I think other people also like it. The fediverse isn’t owned by a single company or person, if you don’t like it, there’s lots of instances that won’t be using it.
