Have you tried launching with other directx versions?

Scream Fortress has finally released! (and btw TF2 just turned 17 years old!) in c/[email protected]

The maps in this one are beautiful. Seriously. The one in the middle of the giant lake, freaky fair, toxic... Shame we won't see them in base game.
