It'd only be realistic if the y2038 bug temporarily took out all the androids because they're running Debian 10 or something.

For taking HRT, your gender isn't the part that matters. Do you think HRT will improve your life? If yes, take it, you can figure out the gender later.

I was caught between woman and nonbinary too for a while before I decided to take hormones anyway because the cost-benefit analysis was so one-sided to benefit and I'm a lot happier now. I'm still actually caught between woman and nonbinary, I just don't mind that uncertainty as much because I'm confident this path is for me.

All this talk of porn is bad for you or rots your brain, but I never hear any evidence, or even fully fleshed out reasoning.

If it's inherently harmful, I expect to see the inherent harm. Closest I get is seeing a few particular scenarios of an unhealthy relationship with it or people telling me there's some invisible harm I can't see and they can't show me (bit unfalsifiable, don't you think?).

Showing brain rot requires showing that it has an effect on the brain/mind (which it probably does, as almost any activity will) AND that effect is net bad. Again, I've never seen much evidence that the effect is inherently bad.

As long as you're managing it right - noticing any affects and deciding if that's worth stopping over - I trust you to regulate yourself. Everybody's different, so who am I to say something is bad for everyone or that nobody can have a healthy relationship with something?

I love that. While double blind experiments are best for removing bias, anecdotal data is still valid and useful!

You could cover yourself in those pictures, such as just scribbling black over you. While not great, a black blob might be easier to connect with than old photos of you.

No way, x is the best kind of x??

You sure that's for anticheat? Just sounds like the game was compiled for newer CPUs because SSE provides a huge performance boost in some areas.

Still visible to me

No, context implies she. It's a pretty common surgery for trans women as the testes produce testosterone.

Also note that this community is on Blahaj Zone, an instance meant to be a nice space for LGBTQ people, so there are gonna be a lot of posts about trans people, like this one.

Oh yes, it's hard, but I just want you to know it's not an issue of looks, it's a changeable thing. Personally, I only got some confidence when I started HRT.

Being attractive as a guy isn't everything. Given you're transfem, I'm assuming you had low self confidence and all the other things that come with being happy with who you are.

I don't look particularly amazing right now, but my family recognizes I look a lot happier and act like a person now, rather than the husk I was.

https://xkcd.com/661/

I've seen many people take absolutists stances and throw accusations or insults at others who don't. While I applaud that they recognized serious problems, I want everyone to understand why I might take actions that seem to ignore or even worsen those problems: I only have so much power and so many options, none of which are ideal, so I do the best I can with what I have. I might prioritize stopping one bad thing over stopping another; that's not me excusing the other bad thing, that's me playing the cards I have to get the least bad outcome.

Personally, I base my moral decisions on expected outcomes. I would pull the lever in the trolley problem. I understand some people think me a monster for that, and I certainly wouldn't feel good pulling it, but I see it as me net saving people. I disagree with people that wouldn't pull it, but I see where they're coming from and I'm not mad at them (disappointed, maybe). Of course, as well as pulling the lever, there may be options to try helping the one person on the tracks, and we should definitely attempt such a rescue.

This whole topic can be applied to the do-i-vote-for-biden thing that this community seems divided over, but it's much more broadly applicable too.

Anyway, this is just me saying that I don't think the absolutist all-or-nothing approach some people take is a good idea, and I also don't like when some of them call me a bad person for not doing the same.

Double bottom rule (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

A diagram of a "bottom meson" (composed of an unknown quark "q" and an antibottom quark) with an arrow labeled ":3" pointing to a "double bottom Baryon" (composed of an unknown quark "q" and 2 bottom quarks).

Both rule (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

Two (presumably) girls lying in bed holding hands and looking at each other. The one on the left, labeled "Me" has shoulder-length hair, an uncomfortable :| expression, and is wearing a black hoodie, grey jeans, and sneakers. The one on the right, labeled "Also me" has longer hair, a subtle smile, a blush, and is wearing a dress and high heels.

Edited from this post, on which I commented "I wanna be both".
