Ribbons on vents. Why? (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 20 hours ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Why is it in Hollywood movies every time there is a vent or AC unit someone has fixed little ribbons on it? Is that a thing americans do? Why? The vent in this movie is close to the floor in the toilets of a train. This implies someone got on all fours ON THE FLOOR OF A TRAIN'S BATHROOM to stick those ribbons there for a reason i can't even begin to comprehend.

I would like to know if any of you use an app or website/service to track your progress in series, or which movies you’ve seen.

The platform should also indicate where (streaming services) the movie/series is available

I’m currently using Justwatch but they probably sell a lot of user data, and some of the availability infos for some shows is wrong, and after contacting them to report this, they were of no help and didn’t understand what I asked. Seems like they only check the US catalog of the streaming services and don’t report it country per country, which is preferable.

Hello everyone,

Just a small crosspost to this post about a proposal for a Fedi Film Club:https://lemmy.world/post/16944388

In summary

1 film a month

First, a post to take nominations/suggestions

Post any film you want to watch, or have heard good things about, or recommend to everyone else

Second, a post to take votes on the nominations

And then we watch and discuss the winner

You can also find it on [email protected], it is pinned.

The discussion is happening over there, any comment or feedback is welcome!

Cheers

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/16841963

Im looking for an RSS feed I can subscribe to that posts about upcoming shows and movies on the different providers like Netflix, Amazon, etc.

It would be nice if the feed also provided an overview of each show so I didn't have to open up a separate imdb tab to look up the details of the ones I am interested in.

Does anyone know of any feeds that do this?
