Are its politics good ?

I haven't actually read any of it in a few years because it was on hiatus for a long time but the politics are alright from what I can remember, if a bit lib. Soldiers from two warring factions abandon the fight and elope and are hunted by a member of the ruling class, the kid they have becomes the main protagonist.

They literally do the thing where the people who are right (The revolution) show up just to kill some innocents to show that political action is bad.
