It was the type of liberal I was a few years ago. Then I came across Yugopnik and Second Thought, then Marx Madness and now I'm wishing I had better ability to sit and read for long periods because I have so many more books I need to read...keep working on the radlibs, some may be your next comrade!

Yeah it's context and tone dependent. This is like a shortened way of saying can hang out, like he might not be a revolutionary but he's fine enough for a lib to be at the communist house party type deal, even if we would constantly be ribbing him for said liberalism.
